The Pickerington, Ohio, native has the skills to be a real sleeper in the back third of Wisconsin's defense.
The commitment drought ended Saturday for the Wisconsin Badgers ended as Pickerington, Ohio, safety Seth Currens announced he would become the fifth commitment for UW's class of 2016.
Currens, listed at 6'2, 195 pounds, is a prospect that definitely has the size and hands to make himself a viable threat in the secondary, as he ended his junior high school season with seven interceptions. He has good athleticism for his high school level, too, and with a willingness to tackle, he's definitely a pick-up that can develop into something beyond the three-star rating. 247Sports ranks Currens the No. 95 safety in the class of 2016 and the No. 57 player out of Ohio.
Currens had offers from from Bowling Green, Illinois, Marshall and Toledo. It had been since April 10, when the Badgers last received a commitment from in-state defensive end prospect Luke Benzschawel, and with the Badgers still in the lead for Carmel, Ind., outside linebacker Noah Burks, an early June commitment run may be coming.
