The Badgers look to start building their 2017 recruiting class with four-star shooting guard Kobe King.

After several weeks of intense scouting this summer, Wisconsin finally offered four-star point Kobe King on Saturday, multiple reports indicated.

King hails from La Crosse Central High School, in La Crosse, Wis., and is touted as the best shooting guard from Wisconsin in the 2017 class. At 6'3, 175 pounds, King is a well-built guard and an excellent first offer for the class of 2017.

In addition to being 247Sports' composite No. 1 player from Wisconsin for 2017, King is ranked the No. 9 shooting guard in the country and the No. 44 player overall. According to Scout.com, King is the No. 36 player in the class, the No. 6 shooting guard and the No. 3 shooting guard in the midwest.

For the past few weeks, scouts have been watching King play at NY2LA Sports Tournaments. With his excellent play, he drew the attention from several schools. Along with Wisconsin, King has received offers from Iowa State, Marquette, Northern Iowa and five offers.

King has received high praise from almost all who've watch him. He is an incredibly versatile guard who can score from nearly anywhere on the floor and with near perfect shot mechanics, King is lethal when left open to shoot. Furthermore, he can score off the drive and can finish well even through contact. Last season, King averaged 15.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for his high school. King would be a perfect first piece for the 2017 recruiting class, as his game fits quite well with the Wisconsin system. Also being a high-profile recruit for the 2017 class, King would help make the transition out of the Bo Ryan era much smoother. Plus, he could help attract more top-tier recruits as well.

King plans to make an official visit to Madison in the coming month, according to Scout.com's Benjamin Worgull

Sounds like they are also recruiting 2016 PG Payton Pritchard hard, now that he has decommited from Oklahoma. Nice fit with chance to start for 3 years after Koenig leaves. He and King would make a nice guard tandem going forward.
