What Went Wrong With UW Football

Name I saw on X and did not think of it until now. Pat Fitzgerald as HC if Fickell fired?
 
Would UW have interest? Yes but I think no way does Campbell want the trainwreck of a job that is UW. Staying at Iowa State would be better and he will find a better job then UW if he would want to leave.

I would love for UW to get Campbell. UW isn't a perfect job, but it's hardly a train wreck though I agree it's a train wreck season. Look at Indiana, that was considered a train wreck and with the right coach you can be competitive. UW will never be an OSU, but it's one of only a handful or so of P4 jobs that will be open this year so there will be plenty of candidates. Maybe Campbell will be one of them.

not anymore PSU, LSU etc..... a lot of openings before the end of October

Yup, usually there are only a few higher level P4 jobs open, but this year there are going to likely be 6-8 of them and a number are high level jobs like PSU, LSU, & Florida. Other openings that some would say are similar to, or better than UW are UCLA, Arkansas, VaTech, OkSt along, with possibly a few more by the end of November. Hopefully UW gets lucky and finds the right guy.

My gut says they don't fire him. Still the HC next year
