General:

Next Event: Ravens at Packers, Aug. 24th - 12 P.M. CT

Offense:

  • Nothing doing for Packers offense on first two plays. Run nowhere for Jacobs followed by diving PBU by ravens defender on a flat.
  • Next play is a checkdown to Jacobs for nothing but a defensive holding penalty downfield would have given GB a first down.
  • Run inside with Wilson for about 4.
  • Jacobs solid run off right tackle.
  • Sean Clifford the number 2 QB.
    • First play is a screen to DuBose for a few.
    • Run with Merriweather looks disjointed and goes nowhere.
    • Clifford massively underthrows a ball for Melton who adjusts as best he could and makes a diving attempt but can’t hang on.
  • Love with an absolute dime to Romeo Doubs on a deep post. Was in double coverage but thrown perfectly. Doubs had a quarter of a step but veteran Eddie Jackson makes a diving PBU at the very last second and just barely tips it away.
  • Love to Reed for a nice pickup on the next play.
  • Love hits Kraft across the middle.
  • Solid pass pro. Love has time to throw. Ravens with sticky coverage.
  • Run to Jacobs off right side goes nowhere.
  • Run to Wilson off left side goes nowhere.
  • Run off left to Wilson goes much better. Gain of 8-10.
  • Pratt with a bootleg laser and to DuBose along the sideline for about 25. Big pickup and awesome throw.
  • Kraft false start. Believe that’s his second one.
  • Next play is a short crosser to Kraft.
  • ⚠️Love picked by Roquan Smith over the middle, tried to hit Reed up the seam, but Smith was lurking & went up to make the play.
  • Doubs with a bad drop. Love delivered a strike up the seam.
  • A near sack but checkdown to Wilson for next to nothing.
  • Then Love gets the Ravens to jump offsides and complete a 12 yard pass to Doubs down the right sideline.
  • Love beats a corner blitz for a short completion to Sims who gets a few after the catch.
  • Ravens defense making a lot of plays. 2 PBU’s and a pick earlier, just had two more pbu’s on the last two plays - one on Love, one on Pratt.
  • Pratt complete to Heath on a slant for about 6.
  • Clifford gets defense to jump but oddly doesn’t take the shot down field and takes a checkdown to Merriweather instead that goes nowhere.
  • Sean Clifford with his best throw of camp. Perfect ball down the right sideline to Malik Heath for a TD. 40-plus on a third-and- 8. Heath was open on a few deep shots in Denver and the QB missed. Good to see!
  • Jayden Reed for a few on an end around in team red zone drills.
  • Love hits Kraft on a rollout and Kraft makes a nice move to get some extra yards. 85 is looking really good these last few practices.
  • Love to Doubs on a nice out route down to about the 4.
  • Incomplete to end zone for either Doubs or Reed, possible miscommunication.
  • A Jacobs run right ends up in Jacobs being tackled and some Packers not happy about it. Some chirping ensues. No fights yet, just little shoves & shit-talking.
  • Michael Pratt getting reps as the QB2 in the red zone.
  • Pratt makes a nice read to hit Merriweather in the flat in red zone and he takes it the rest of the way for the TD. Needed to be a quick decision from 17 and it was.
  • The screen game is picking up! Love to Kraft on a TE screen in red zone for a TD.
  • Love to Watson on the sidelines of the end zone for a jump ball TD. Offense starting to heat up!
  • Josh Jacobs red zone run goes nowhere. Over Kyle Hamilton who may be the best DB in football, btw.
  • Doubs with that sick red zone route at the pylon. It’s nearly unstoppable unless you’re Jaire Alexander yesterday. The Ravens however do not have Jaire Alexander and it’s an easy TD.
  • Doubs just ran a different route to the same spot and beat Stephens again. Another touchdown.
  • Love throws four passes from inside of 10Four touchdowns.
    • 9-yard check to Tucker Kraft (great YAC)
    • 6-yard stop to Romeo Doubs
    • 4-yard out to Christian Watson
    • 3-yard out to Doubs
  • ⚠️Love to Doubs on a play action slant is almost picked by Roquan again. Roquan flat dropped it.
  • Love gets another free play but the pass is broken up down the right sideline. I believe intended for Doubs.
  • Love incomplete on a corner route to Watson. Looked like Watson had a step but Love missed him wide and low.
  • The pass pro has been awesome by the OL.
  • Love to Kraft over the middle. Big gain Kraft is a machine.
  • Love to Doubs on a nice slant.
  • Love fits a tight throw into Jayden Reed deep down the field. The defender probably would have been more physical in a game but it was a small collision nonetheless and Reed held on for a big gain and potential TD.
  • The first time Love has really felt any pressure he navigates the pocket nicely and finds a lane to run picking up a nice gain.
  • Pratt adds two more TDs to cap a good deep red-zone period.
  • Nate Wiggins all over a WR screen to Toure from Clifford.
  • Clifford with a really nice start to his day. Finds Heath over the middle for a big gain. Clifford needed a day like this.
  • Drop by Emanuel Wilson on a checkdown from Clifford. Pass catching and pass pro are the two keys for him.
  • 2 minute drill. Packers offense. Down 3. 1:30 left. Ball on 30. 1 timeout. 1st and 10.
    • Love to Reed on a slant for 15. Clock ticks.
    • Love incomplete to the right on the next play.
    • Love to Doubs deep down the left sideline down deep into the red zone. Great route. Great play. Love complete short. Loss of about 4. Timeout.
    • Love throws to Wicks back corner of the end zone but overthrown and incomplete.
    • Huge 3rd down coming up.
    • Love incomplete to back corner of the end zone again - couldn’t tell the WR.
    • Good drive stalls in the red zone. Fg team is on for the tie.
    • Same situation for the Packers 2’s. Pratt at QB
    • Pratt to DuBose short. Clock ticks
    • Incomplete down the right sidelines. Not sure if it was an overthrow or a throw away.
    • Pratt to Toure over the middle high and out of reach. 4th down coming up.
    • Pratt incomplete but looks like holding on the defense. First down.
    • Pratt low on a throw to Merriweather. Probably best. Wasn’t going to go anywhere.
    • Pratt fires to Dubose along the sidelines for a gain of 9. Out of bound s

    • 30 seconds left. 1 timeout. First and 10. Pratt incomplete along the right sidelines. There’s 70 Ravens blocking my view so can’t see everything.

    • Pratt to Toure on a slant for the first.
    • Spike. Clock stopped. 7 seconds left. Joseph is on for the potential tie.
    • Same situation for the Packers #3’s. Clifford at QB.
    • Clifford complete to Swinson for 7. Out of bounds.
    • Clifford checkdown to Merriweather. First down and out of bounds.
    • Clifford drops in a dime on a deep corner route to Pearson. gorgeous throw.
    • Clifford throw away looks like they are calling it a sack.
    • Crosser to Stanley for a few sets up FG attempt.
Defense:

  • Roger Rosengarten with an impressive 1x1 vs Rashan Gary. Stonewalled him. Don’t see that from a rookie against Gary often.
  • Colby wooden with two impressive wins in 1x1s vs Ravens OL.
  • Stokes breaks up a Jackson deep ball for Bateman.
  • Lamar goes deep to Bateman down the left sideline. Perfect pass but broken up by Xavier McKinney at the last second.
  • Hopper stops Likely. Getting some run with the ones.
  • TJ Slaton has been outstanding so far. Collapses pocket with Gary coming off edge. Likely sack, still an incompletion across middle.
  • McKinney in on several plays. Tackle in run game at LOS. Makes tackle in flat on pass. PBU over the middle. Never a wasted step with McKinney. Always where he needs to be with one ear turned to the ball.
  • Bullard starting next to McKinney but Williams getting work too.
  • Ravens have four false starts in first two team periods. Ravens false starts in 1s and 2s, Packers offsides once in 2s
  • Packers DL has been getting steady pressure.
  • Gary coverage sack on Lamar.
  • Jackson to Flowers nice gain up right sideline with Nixon in coverage
  • Jackson nice completions to Wallace (Stokes trailing) and Miller (Ballentine good coverage but better catch over middle)
  • Enagbare pressure, Cox sack in 2s.
  • Good coverage and Preston penetrates for a likely sack of Jackson in red zone.
  • Devonte Wyatt meets justice hill in the backfield
  • Move the ball period ends with Lamar throwing a deep TD to Malik Cunningham with LB Isaiah McDuffie in coverage. Beautiful throw.
  • Good showing for Packers two defense in move the ball - forced a four and out. Baltimore drives on second try with a seam to Ismail but Anthony Johnson jr breaks up a pass and gets a TFL to end it

    • Kenny Clark starts with a sack. Timeout Ravens.
    • Lamar fires in a completion to Lively. Bullard closed quick but lively made the catch. Clock ticks.
    • Lamar complete to the sidelines out of bounds.
    • 4th down. Lamar finds a checkdown for a first down.
    • Lamar to Justice Hill again on a checkdown. Clock ticks.
    • Lamar to Bateman on a crosser. Lots of time coming off. First down.
    • Spike. Down to 10 seconds left. No timeouts.
    • Great coverage and pressure by the DL. Lamar has to throw it away. 3 seconds left.
    • Justin Tucker on for a massive kick. I think 60 plus but either way a big one. Missed it though. Packers #1 defense wins!
    • Same situation for Ravens #2’s.
    • Josh Johnson hits his receiver on a crosser for 5. Out of bounds.
    • Mosby sack but looks like there was a penalty on the Packers. First down ravens.
    • Short completion for Johnson.
    • Evan Williams with the pick of Johnson over the middle. #2 defense wins!

  • Kristian Welch, Zayne Anderson, Robert Rochell, Ben Sims, Corey Ballentine and Grant DuBose on first team kick return. Some fringe roster guys.

  • Special teams period getting a little heated and Keisean Nixon, believe it or not, trying to diffuse things with the Ravens sideline

  • Matt LaFleur: Presser
    • Says Jordan Morgan will work through individual drills and then be evaluated for whether he can participate in team.
    • "We'll see," LaFleur says of Jordan Love playing on Saturday.
    • Maintains that a Broncos defender hit Jordan Love during last week's joint practice: "It was 100% [the Broncos player]."
    • Says Rasheed Walker is really starting to pick up on the detail, helping him grow at the LT position. LaFleur adds that he has a high ceiling.
    • On Josh Jacobs' camp: "I think he's had an outstanding camp. I still think there are certain things that certainly he's getting adjusted to, but he's a pro. He approaches it the right way. I expect him to hit the ground running."
    • Said that the team is still awaiting additional tests on RB AJ Dillon’s stinger.
    • MarShawn Lloyd is still out and there's clearly some concern on A.J. Dillon's stinger.
 
Ro Smith is a great player, and that six sense that a QB has for a dropping LB sometimes takes time to develop. Love had some issues with it early last year, I remember Rodgers having issues with it the first couple years of his career. Ultimately you never want them to throw INTs but might just be cost of doing business if they're going to attack the middle of the field consistently.
 
Love is really doing well this camp, I would play him a couple series and let the scrubs finish it out Saturday. Biggest issue at the end of camp is kicker. Throw out a 7th and go get someone before they hit waivers and cut these two bums.
