Saw a FB site in KS start this kind of thread. So in your travels through the Badger state were do you stop to eat ? Have a no name dive or diner you stumble across now and then ?

Post it !
A handful of places that I know are still around ....

WheelHouse Restaurant in Waupaca... really good food. It's a staple around the chain of lakes area. http://www.wheelhouserestaurant.com/

Village Inn Pizza Family Restaurant New Holstein, WI ... I found this place long ago and it's still there. Don't let the name fool you it's got some great burgers ! http://www.villageinnpizzarestaurant.com/

Pine Tree Supper Club, New London Small unknown and some of the best prime rib ever. I grew up on this stuff and the original owners son has it churning along. http://www.pinetreesupperclub.com/

I could go on and on... add yours ! If you stumble on one while traveling even better !

Hmm, last time I was out in WI we ate at Glarner Stube in New Glarus. Excellent food if you're in the mood for that type of fare. Excellent battered curds and Wienerschnitzel. Also have a great selection of New Glarus beer on tap, including some stuff not always available in bottles at the moment.

Live in Madison so will give my faves here..

Burgers: Wisco also called Willy st. Bat. Also great hot wings.

Mike's Horseshoe Bar on Cottage grove off 51/Stoughton Rd also great jalapeno poppers. Also cheapest and strongest drinks for happy hour....great blue collar bar.

Sportman Bar off Broadway and 51. Char broiled burgers and also great cheese curds. Its where watch games when not at home with drink shots when we score and happy hour prices.

Bothers 3 of 30& Fair Oaks.. Fri night great Lake Perch. Sat night best Prime Rib and both reasonable priced and big meals. Also great breakfasts too....

Should mention right near by is a bar called Jerry's/Baily's...cheap and strong drinks and another place watch games at.

Mexican.....La Hacenda on Park St. Best have found outside of Milwaukee and down in Az

More to come later

Hmm, i'll try not to let this go on for too long... :D

Up here in Door County:
Parador - http://www.paradorwisconsin.com/ Spanish style tapas
Bluefront Café - http://www.thebluefrontcafe.com/ Good bistro style menu
Olde Mexico - http://www.oldmexicowi.com/ Good, cheap, and plentiful Mexican with huge margarita's
Wild Tomato - https://wildtomatopizza.com/ Best pizza ever

Warning: there are a lot of tourist trap, crappy restaurants up here that make you question humanity that they are still open. Beware.

Other places in WI:
Plaka Taverna (Madison) http://www.plakamadison.com/ Greek
Come Back In (Madison) http://www.comebackintavern.com/ in the same complex as Essen Haus PackerShrine mentioned

You'd think I'd have more intel on restaurants in Green Bay, but really whenever we are there we end up at Noodles & Company (daughters favorite restaurant) or Margarita's just down the road from Lambeau. Which is decent, just not great.

"Great" and "Fish Boil" do not belong in the same sentence. As a native New Englander a fish boil makes my skin crawl. You boil shellfish not fish..

OK, snotty elitist east coast rant over..

If you are into fish boils the Viking has a good reputation for them. Very popular.

CD better places for breakfast then Comeback....brothers 3, 51 & *Milwaukee St Sundown on weekends....opt for western inlet or home made biscuts and gravy, Green Latern in McFarland Walleye breakfast.

On Williamson ( aka Willy St) Willabes. Opt for Wi skillet also make a pancake bigger then your plate....right down the road Mickys makes breakfast not the norm and the other way is Madison Sourdough good breakfast a lil different and lil higher in price. If there make sure to pick up one of their home made bread loads for later
