Should the Packers trade up for Sidney Jones in the second round?

With a torn Achillies I don't think you trade up I question if he even goes 2nd round because of it.

I don't see any reason to trade up for an injured player who won't likely be 100% until 2018. Sure, there might be some long-term benefit, but they really kind of need a CB now and Jones likely provides very little help this year.

I'm not so sure I even take him in the 2nd with the pick they have. There are a lot of talented CBs in this draft who can help you right now and might be just as good as Jones down the road. Now, by Rd 3 . . . I'm all in.

If anything, it would be a good draft to trade down. Since the Packers have several needs, quality players could be picked up in three rounds. Giving up their first rounder for mid 2nd & 3rd round players could be a way to fill four spots at one time. But, because our pick is so low in the draft, it would probably only give us a 2nd & 4th, or 5th.

I do know one thing. Drafting an injured player would have me shaking my head. We've had so many injuries over the last few years, and the Packers are dumping those who get injured, why add another one to the mix?

Like Jones a lot. I would take him at 61. Yes, he might be recovering right now, but maybe pre-injured would be a pre-emptive way of dealing with our trainers. Like pre-washed jeans. Anyway, I've mentioned before that TT doesn't think he needs a shut down CB right now. He's signed House and has the 1st round pick in Randall. A second round pick with first round talent who should be ready about week 6? I'd take the risk. We'll probably need another one by that time anyway.
