One of the highlight players of the 2016 Wisconsin Badgers recruiting class was linebacker Dallas Jeanty.

Just one season in to his time in Madison and it appears it has all come to an end. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. product has asked for and been granted his release from the program according to Badger247.

No official word has been released by the Badgers football program, but one could see why this move would be in the offing.

Jeanty redshirted this past season, while seeing the likes of T.J. Edwards, Chris Orr, Jack Cichy and Ryan Connelly all succeed as starters at some point last season. Add in Nick Thomas to the mix and Jeanty’s path to playing time was going to be well down the road if ever.

At the time of his commitment to Wisconsin he was between the Badgers and offers from Tennessee, Cincinnati, Maryland, Indiana, and Oregon State.

The Badger247 report says that Jeanty is receiving interest from UCF as a potential spot to transfer to.

Wherever Jeanty lands, he will have four years of eligibility and that should make him an attractive transfer prospect. UCF would be a good landing spot, as they also play the 3-4 system and outside of terminology there are likely to be few differences.
