Post Game GB Falls To Vikings 31-29

Kicking game: It's crap. Narveson missed both of his field goal attempts. Can't say it cost them the game, but when you lose by 2 you also can't just dismiss the misses as not being the reason they lost.
i agree 100% with the first two sentences, but i disagree with the third one. i don't think those two misses had any bearing whatsoever with the outcome of the game. three interceptions, a lost fumble, several dropped passes, and a defense that didn't start playing until the second half. those are the things that led to the loss. but yeah, i agree we need a better kicker because it may not have been the cause of this loss but it may well end up being the cause of a future loss.

as for the rest of your post - i can't argue with any of it. i think it was pretty much spot on.

Kenny Clark another who's failing to produce. Only 10 tackles thru 4 games and no sacks. For what he's being paid he needs to give more then 2.5 tackles a game.

This was one of those games, you can say a whole lot about it or you can say very little. It was just sloppy. In some ways expected, the elephant in the room being Love's return and playing with the knee injury. Only one way to figure out how to play winning football with a bad knee and that's to go out and do it. Early on we all saw how he wasn't stepping into throws and the ball was sinking or sailing - BUT the WR really didn't help out their guy coming back from injury by making those tough catches. You don't see this by box score reading but WR around the league are making tough catches off imperfect throws every week. I don't buy this "if the throw wasn't perfect it's not the WR's fault for dropping it" stuff, make a play for your QB. On the other side, WR were getting open and Love wasn't reading them right and making things harder on them - the knee is a reason but not an excuse, gotta learn how to throw to them properly with the injury.

I wish with all my heart that this team knew how to start fast. I've only ever seen it happen in 2011. When I look over the 4 games as a whole, I see so much potential in the offense if they can clean up the penalties and get out of their own way and start to gel. I see the potential in the defense to play well enough to win these games when the O is scoring 25+, but they need that corner situation stabilized. It's all there for them still this year, and at the end of the day I would much rather be playing our best ball in November-December than playing our best ball in September like the Vikings are.

Musgrave at this point is TE 2. He only played 25 snaps or 33% of the plays. Kraft played 65 snaps or 85% of the plays.

Also wonder if they are going to look at trying to get Van Ness more snaps. Right now he's only seeing about 1/3rd of the snaps with Gary and Smith each getting 2/3rds and Enagbare getting the other 1/3rd.

part of that is because kraft is much better at being the 6th ol. his fumble yesterday sure didn't help.

Gary took the MIN game off. He was getting blocked by TE and RB.. but that’s him he’s always been like that
Gary's contract makes him stick on the roster thru 2025 but after that he becomes a guy you can release.
