The Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers will square off on Saturday night. It will be the third time the Packers have hosted a playoff game at Lambeau Field in primetime (2002 vs. Atlanta and 2012 vs. Minnesota).
  • This is the second straight year that the Packers will play in a Divisional Playoff on a Saturday, having defeated the Los Angeles Rams at Lambeau Field last season.
  • The Packers are 10-3 all-time in playoff games played on a Saturday, including a 7-1 mark at home.
  • This will be the ninth postseason meeting between the two teams, with each club winning four times.
  • Green Bay traveled to San Francisco in Week 3 this season, beating the 49ers, 30-28, on a 51-yard field goal by K Mason Crosby as time expired.
  • It is the sixth time (1996, 1998, 2012, 2013, 2019) that the Packers and 49ers will play each other in the postseason after meeting in the regular season. In four of the previous five times, the team that won during the regular season won in the postseason.

  • Overall, Rodgers has posted 25 TDs, five INTs and a passer rating of 104.7 (including postseason) against San Francisco.
  • Including the postseason, Rodgers has thrown for over 300 yards in three of the last five games against San Francisco (305, 326, 425).
  • WR Davante Adams has played in five games against the 49ers (including playoffs), averaging 9.6 receptions, 123.6 yards and a TD per game.

  • Play-by-play man Joe Buck joins analyst Troy Aikman with Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi reporting from the field.
  • Westwood One will air the game on radio across the country. Kevin Harlan (play-by-play), James Lofton (analyst) and Ben Leber (sideline reporter) will call the action with Scott Graham hosting pregame and halftime shows.
  • Milwaukee's WTMJ (620 AM), airing Green Bay games since November 1929, heads up the Packers Radio Network that is made up of 49 stations in four states. McCarren first joined the team's broadcasts in 1995 and enters his 26th season calling Packers games. They surpassed Jim Irwin and Max McGee for the most regular-season and postseason games broadcast for the Packers with 313 at the 2018 season opener against Chicago. Just an opinion here, but I think the Rams might be the toughest opponent the Packers could have drawn for this game. They have a QB on a mission, added a solid receiver for the stretch run in Beckham, and seem to be able to adjust very well during games on defense.

Their running game hasn't been great most of the year, but by bringing in Beckham, they've created a 2nd need for double teams with Kupp, so that's one less defender who can focus on the run. We could end up susceptible to the inside rush.

Matthew Stafford is having a career year, with 41 TD passes, and a 102.9 QBR. His 4,886 passing yards is third in the league. He's playing like an all-pro, and if you want to beat him, you're going to have to get to him, and force him to throw early, because he seems to be getting even better week after week.

I think they Packers can win this one, but I'm not confident in it happening. If the Packers win, they end up winning a Lombardi Trophy. If the Rams win, they end up losing in the Super Bowl game. It's all a question of match ups, and I don't see them capable of beating teams like KC or Buffalo. But, the Packers can.

That Rams game is a game away but I understand what you're saying.

This 9ers game should be a good one and GB has to be ready. Just playing at home doesn't guarantee a win. They are going to need to be able to stop that run. 9ers like that physical stuff, but from what I've read, that defensive secondary is suspect.

The Niners defense is beatable. Rodgers has to take the short stuff and keep the chains moving. If you try to go downfield all the time, then SF will get sacks and put you into undesirable situations. Their defense will be a little beat up as well. Jones should see a lot of usage in the passing game this week.

To me, the biggest key is getting out to a quick start...which has not been something we've done well this year. SF doesn't play well from behind. We need to build an early lead and keep them from building a rhythm offensively. Having a stronger OL for this game is huge, as the lack of a constant blitz could play to our favor if the OL plays like they are capable of.
