Three starters sat out for Green Bay during the first practice of the week.

On Wednesday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers began their on-field preparations for their game against the Arizona Cardinals this coming Sunday, with playoff seeding in the NFC on the line. The Packers were practicing without five players during the week's first practice, however, with another five individuals being limited.

Of the players not practicing at all, three are starters. Left tackle David Bakhtiari sat out with an ankle injury after having one of the best pass-blocking games of his three-year career on Sunday. Joining him on the sidelines was defensive tackle Mike Daniels, who missed portions of last week's practices with a hamstring injury. That is the same injury that was reported to keep him out on Wednesday. Cornerback Sam Shields is the other big name who was not participating, as he continues to try to progress through the concussion protocol.

Three other offensive starters showed up as limited, with right tackle Bryan Bulaga and both starting guards (Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang) sharing that status. Starting center Corey Linsley was a full participant, however, after being active but not playing a snap against the Raiders last Sunday.

Here's the full Packers' injury report.

The Cardinals also had a handful of key players sitting out practice on Wednesday. Starting safety Rashad Johnson sat, and that could be a major problem with Tyrann Mathieu being placed on injured reserve on Monday. Backup linebacker Sean Weatherspoon and running back Andre Ellington both sat out as well. Key names who were limited include QB Carson Palmer (who hurt a finger last Sunday night), tight end Jermaine Gresham, cornerback Jerraud Powers, and defensive lineman Frostee Rucker.
