Just another failed 1st round defensive player. Injuries played a role but never the player expected. So disappointing.
 
Very good athlete, not football player. No doubt he'd better off in a 4-3 front but I still say it's an attitude issue with the guy. If he played with half the fire of Mike Daniels those physical traits would come through and he'd produce. He's always so passive out there with the occasional burst of playmaking.
 
Making the jump from college to NFL is hard enough, but throw in a completely new position as well and this should be expected. Guy just is not wired to be an OLB. Failed experiment. Let him play out his contract and move on.
 
I think he should be kept. Changing positions, then injuries really hurt his chances. Now healthy he has played well and was missed when out for a game or 2 last year. If he keeps it up and can play the entire 16 games, he should be re-signed.

Couldn't agree more that Perry just doesn't have "it". How could you not see in interviews that the guy just doesn't love football? He is passive as all get out. That was a major whiff by our scouting department and TT there.

He has to prove to be worth re-signing he's a bust so far in GB.

There have been a couple recent picks where the team has gotten into trouble because they drafted more for need than value. Sherrod was the last "top tier" OT left when we took him, even though he had a lot of blemishes. Perry was the last or second to last "top tier" OLB prospect in 2012, after Irvin, McClellin and Mercilus went off the board. The same year they traded up for Worthy to make sure they got one of the second tier DEs. It's hard enough drafting at the end of each round year after year, but when you stretch yourself out like that you open yourself up to having to deal with compromises like Perry and they don't always work out.
