Packers 2024 Training Camp Thread

a former packers qb missed a 2-day minicamp, and the outrage was pervasive in the media. it will be interesting to see how the media reacts to love's holdout from training camp.
Not remotely, in any universe, even close to the same thing. For starters, Love is actually there with the team, on the field, he's just not putting himself in position to get injured while the details of his first mega contract are being ironed out. He also spent the entire off-season working and working out, except for a couple weeks where he went and got engaged.

Love is still under contract and should be participating while waiting for a new contract to be finalized. Being there means nothing if he wont participate. Makes him look like a me player and selfish.

Love taking parts in meeting just not on the field. Gute talking about like he expects it done in next 2-3 days.

it is true that they are not exactly the same. one player had 15 years of experience and four nfl mvp awards and had participated in every facet of offseason workouts including the voluntary ones and did not take a couple weeks off for any reason, although he did take a 2-day break for a pre-approved absence as long as he understood he would be fined for it. the other is withholding participation in the actual training camp, which is significantly more important to the team than a minicamp, because he doesn't like his current contract after starting 17 weeks of nfl starting experience. i'm glad that you pointed out that they are not even close to the same.

Let's get this right..he went through all the meetings and off-field stuff just not the shorts practice. So he isn't in full hold-out mode. A no show.

I do think it's not the greatest look though.
it is good that he's staying in shape, so kudos to him for that. it would be nice if he was getting in sync with his teammates, particularly the ones who are new to the team. the man is under contract already, so there is simply no justification for not participating fully.
