Packers 2024-25 Season Thread

My thoughts on the Jordan Love interceptions - because you know you were waiting for it and wanted it:

I think he will turn out fine. He's got to make a few corrections - and it's between the ears which may be the hardest.

DUMBASS: Rams and Lions Pick 6s. Horrible. Just can't flippin' happen. No damn excuses accepted.

NOT THE GREATEST DECISIONS: The Vikings interceptions. 2 there was lots of coverage - and one was a toss it up there. Jacksonville. It was a great throw. Our guy was covered; our guy tried. Defense made a fantastic play. I hate the decision. His situational football needs to improve. He's young. Hopefully, he's still coachable. But these riskier throws need to stop.

That's about 6 of them. I can't remember the others. I know better work by receivers could have prevented some.

Thing is, we got spoiled with Rodgers. This is a lot more like Favre - except for the DUMBASS ones, I don't remember Favre running backwards, falling down, off his back foot just tossing it. He's throwing the ball way too frequently when he's almost in the grasp, running backwards, on his back foot, and falling down - and he just seems to fling it. I get he's trying to make a play out of nothing. But on those real dumbass ones, if he would just take the sack, safety, or throw it out of bounds earlier, we'd be better off.

The rest. Obviously, nobody wants, but he's a gunslinger in the Favre mold. I don't like when he throws off his back foot because the ball floats, but if he steps into it and gets intercepted I'll learn to live with it.

If Love will stop the dumbass desperate flings and try to step into the ball, I think he'll be fine. I'm not sure how you coach out the dumbass desperate flings - they are probably almost an autonomic reaction.

And, I think he's trying to do too much - like trying to prove he's worth the $250M on every play. Somebody, needs to sit him down and convince him that he got the money because Green Bay thinks he deserves it.

So that's it. All you need is Love, Love, Love is all you need.

City of GB will pay almost $110K to remove the heritage plaza statue's and bring them to the Packers. New location has not yet been decided on.

Have to assume they rework that contract before any of that matters
but it seems like every time the packers rework a contract lately, they add void years. ball used to be very good at protecting the packers from dead cap, but now it constitutes something like 25% of the total cap. i just would like to see a return to those days when we had very little dead cap.
