Official Week 2 Green Bay vs Indianapolis Colts Thread

That sounds great but if they figure out MW can't throw in the pocket to save his soul they'll stack the box and play cover 1. Honestly, GB should be practicing the long ball... I watched part of their game last week and Stroud hit some deep stuff, if
MW hits 2-3 deep and takes the top off the defense we have a good shot... Bigger issue>>

Run defense!
Since Willis seems to throw better from outside the pocket, I'd follow through on your idea, having him rolling out. That would also free up the possibility of a receiver breaking underneath the deeper coverage, and pretty much in his same line of vision. If they don't respect his legs, and play back on the shorter route, he could turn it up field and use the run to at least move the ball. Not saying this is the #1 priority, but it would give him a little more time to complete the reads he has to make. Above all, they need to convince the Colts that they still have the ability to move the ball, and the weapons to make it happen. It would be nice if Jacobs could light it up, but it's going to be difficult, if they can't throw the ball well enough to respect the passing game.

On defense, they need to play like the Bears did this past weekend. Opportunistic football, and create chaos. It would also be a great time for our special teams to actually step up and earn their keep.

I think we can win this one. It could be a squeaker, either way. Assuming our defense steps it up a notch over last week. We need to stop the run. Not an easy task with what they have running the football.

I get the concern but legacies are made piece by piece by doing things like playing winning football while hurt. Favre did it, Rodgers did it. If Love thinks he’s there and if the team thinks he’s there, let him go for it. It’s not just about him anymore, it’s about leading the team by example.

With the team paying him what they did I think they are going to be very conseritave on him. When Rodgers played I think it was a think he can't get any more hurt playing on it while this with Love seems he could make it worse by playing on it.

He’s not a toy or their property, it’s not that simple.

And i’m not predicting he’s going to play. Just saying, if he can and if he wants to which i think he does, let’s go.

He's the franchise... if your wrong and he hurts it worse then you gave up multiple games for 1. It's a non-conference game so is the next one..early in the year. Sit him...heal and then let him come back

The knock on Willis is inability to work through reads or make presnap reads (the knock on most young QBs that got by on athleticism in college and didn't play at top schools). The best way to play it is run, run, run, run and play action rollout. 2 reads max and then take off running if they are both covered. Preferably deep reads so you punish safeties sneaking up in run support.
