The Green Bay Packers welcome the Miami Dolphins to Lambeau Field for a faceoff in prime time on Thanksgiving.
  • It is the second straight year that Green Bay has played on Thanksgiving, but only the second time at home on the holiday since 1923 (Chicago, 2015).
  • It is the first time the Packers have played on Thanksgiving in back-to-back years since they faced Detroit every year from 1951-63.
  • It marks the first Thursday meeting between the Packers and Dolphins.
  • It is just the seventh meeting between the two teams at Lambeau Field and the fourth this century (2002, 2010, 2018).
  • It will be the second prime-time game for the Packers this season and the first of four consecutive scheduled prime-time games, which would be the first time the Packers have played four straight prime-time games in a single season since the merger (Elias Sports Bureau).
  • Thursday will be the second of three games over a 12-day span for Green Bay as the Packers travel to Detroit to play the Lions next Thursday.
  • It is the Packers' first time playing on a Thursday in back-to-back weeks since 2015 (Weeks 12-13).
WITH THE CALL
NBC will broadcast the game as play-by-play man Mike Tirico joins analyst Jason Garrett in the booth with Melissa Stark reporting from the sidelines.
  • All Packers games can be heard on the Packers Radio Network, which is made up of 54 stations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois and North and South Dakota. 97.3 The Game – WRNW-Milwaukee is in its third season as the flagship station of the Packers Radio Network. For a map and full listing of radio affiliates, go to packers.com/video/radio-network. Wayne Larrivee (play-by-play), two-time Packers Pro Bowler Larry McCarren (analyst), and three-time Packers Pro Bowler John Kuhn (sideline reporter) call the action. McCarren first joined the team's broadcasts in 1995 and enters his 30th season calling Packers games. After originally being paired together in 1999, McCarren and Larrivee enter their 26th season of broadcasts together. They surpassed Jim Irwin and Max McGee for the most regular-season and postseason games broadcast for the Packers with 313 at the 2018 season opener against Chicago.
  • The broadcast is also available on Sirius Satellite Radio on channel 82 or 225 or through the app (Packers Radio Network feed).
  • Westwood One will be broadcasting on radio to a national audience with Ryan Radtke (play-by-play) and Derek Rackley (analyst) on the call and Scott Graham hosting pregame and halftime shows.

Should be a good game. Could go either way. The soft middle LB and inconsistency of the DL is troubling, but if they’re firing on all cylinders should be a win.

Miami is:

Offense
22nd is passing and only has 14 total TDs (They have given up 27 sacks which is 2.5 per game)
20th in rushing (4 yards per carry)

Defense
5th against the pass
9th against the run

Packers are:

Offense
4th in rushing
15th in passing

Defense
11th against the run
9th against the pass

It could be tough sledding against the Dolphins defense. They seem to be pretty balanced against the run and pass. The good news is they do not seem to get a ton of pressure on the QB. Only 21 sacks so far this year. If we can run the ball, we may be able to go deep and get some chunk yardage if Love has time.

Dolphins offense is average although Tua has been playing pretty well lately. I think getting pressure on Tua will be key to make him feel uncomfortable and hopefully we can get him into a lot of 3rd and long situations.

On paper, the Packers should win this game and they are at home but we all know we can throw that stuff out to the window since it is any given Thursday. Just don't turn the ball over and we should win this football game.

Packers 27-21

the dolphins are also seventh in red-zone defense. prior to the 49ers game, the packers were 27th in red-zone offense. against the depleted 49ers defense, they went 5 for 5. the question is did the packers solve their red-zone issues on sunday or was it just the fact that they were facing a defense that was missing several of their best starters?

this is going to be their biggest question over the next three games after the dolphins too because the lions are second in red-zone defense, the seahawks are 13th and the saints are sixth.

i'm going to say the same thing i said last week. this is a winnable game, but the packers are going to have to play better. they were lucky against the bears with the blocked field goal. they were lucky against the niners because sf was missing so many of their starters. now they have to play up to their potential and they will win.

So GB will have to try to balance the run and pass this game it seems. Miami is top ten in both run and pass defense so really won't be able to rely on one or the other.

The weather means very little. It's not like it was. Cold weather gear is exponentially better than it was even 2 years ago. And, most of our guys aren't exactly cheeseheads or Eskimos.

I remember hitting the Falcons in a playoff game in Lambeau, and they embraced the cold and weather better than the Pack. It did not go well for us. It was the beginning of the end of the Lambeau mystique.

This game is extremely important to both teams. It will be decided by which team wants it more and plays with the most mental focus and physical desire.

With all the cold weather gear options available, I better not see a Packer shivering in short sleeves distracted by the elements unable to concentrate or perform.

This guy is doing several of the my cause my cleats for Packers players.
