I hope they don't sign a lot of these same players, insert some new blood in here from other teams,fresh voices are need in the locker room.
I do think they need to resign QWalker and Rhyan, along with Cox and Welch. Maybe restrucure some vets to grab a vet CB if we can so we can not have to spend early draft capital there.

JES is gone and taking staff, maybe it shakes up that part of things. I agree on those 4 resignings. If they can cut Gary loose and restructure two more, they may swing a mid-tier corner...still tough.

Considering what we’ve been learning and Marks recent thread what this team desperately needs is assistant coaches who have a clue how to develop players.

Also better scouting.

Nothing else matters until you fix the trenches. Good DL can cover for a mediocre CB. But a bad DL and it doesn’t matter who is in the secondary. Same with OL. Doesnt matter who your RB and WR are if the OL can’t block.

Right now we are over the cap by $10m but with the cap projected to go up to 311m, we would have $1m in cap space.

Cutting Gary post 6/1 gives us another almost 10m in cap savings. Cutting Jenkins gives us another almost $20m in cap space. We can also extend guys like Jacobs and Wyatt to get even more cap savings. IMO, if they extend Jacobs, they need to be done with the Lloyd experiment and draft another rb, even if it’s in later rounds.

We need likely 2 outside corners. The FA list is sad but you may want to take a swing on a vet like Jamel Dean whose aav is valued at 12m per or Greg Newsome whose martlet value is projected around 10m per. Draft a couples rookies.

Going to need DT as well just for depth, extend Wyatt and pick up cheap depth at 1T and 3T

Gonna need a guy to play opposite of Micah. I think cutting Gary makes a ton of sense. Use some of that money to extend Enagbare. Maybe sign one of the older guys like Mack or Bosa to a one year 10-15m deal. There’s actually quite a few good options at edge. Odafe Oweh, Jaelan Phillips, Boye Mafe, even old Leonard Floyd could be a good pick up.

O line. I’d assume Jenkins is gone (20m in cap savings as discussed earlier). Extend Rhyan who played well at center. Have a battle at LT with Morgan and maybe a draft pick? Yikes. RG is Aaron banks, LG is Belton and Zach Tom at RT.

Quay needs to be extended, he’s earned a contract and has really improved year over year. I love him paired with Cooper.

Receiver and Safety are set.

TLDR; biggest needs: D line, Corner, O-line. Combo of FA and draft should fills these holes, the roster is in pretty good shape overall.

first of all, i want to say "ecellent post". so please don't take offense to my next comment. right now we are not over the cap by $10m. according to spotrac , we are under the cap:


unless, of course, you meant for the 2026 season we are over the cap - which we are. but it looks like we are a little less than $9m over. Anyway, i think there are a few other opportunities to create extra room by cutting guys loose that have never played a snap even though they have been with us for a couple years. i think those guys could easily be replaced with udfas.
