I can pretty well guess why in this case. He's good. Maybe real good. The problem is, he's playing with guys on the under-18 team right now who are better than him, and he's buried down in the 4th line. Among them, are other Badger recruits.
My guess is that he's going to pick out a program where he can count on getting more opportunities to improve his game at a college level, not work behind the better lines and be pushed back in development.
I hope it works out for him, and if that's the case, I totally understand his decision.
