Little bit of a surprise as I thought he would be with the team thru next year when his contract ends.

He’s technically a consultant so he’s not out of a contract. Makes it easier to justify granting permission to make the move. His statement is telling
 
Will see how well Matt Arnold will do. Do not know if he had much say in things with Stearns.

Won’t see much change if any at all. Stearns gets heat and it’s justifiable about the Hader trade but overall hard to fault a small market organization that won 90+ games 2x in the last 5 years, 1 89 win season and 4 years in playoffs.

Yeah hitting was not optimal but pitching was, can’t have everything. $122m is # for small market teams (17th overall).
 
Stearns back to Houston? GM down there is out after his contract is up and declined the one year offer the owner offered him.

Crane has always been a big fan of Stearns

Well technically he’s out of his contract and is a “consultant” so probably doubtful
