I finished the first part!

Presented below is how the conference champions will be seeded for my 16-team NCAA Football playoff. For my tournament, the first two rounds are played at the campus location of the higher seed. Last two rounds are done with the bowl set up we have now.

Teams are somewhat grouped as geographically as I possibly can while maintaining seeding order. Geography does not play a factor in determining at large seeds, and now that I'm thinking about it out loud, may not play a factor at all. Other than grouping.

Seeds are awarded based on:
  1. Undefeated conference champions (in conference play)
    a. Ties broken by overall record
    -Ties broken by SOS
--Good wins vs. bad losses factored
  2. Conference Champions
    a. Determined by conference record
    -Ties broken by overall record
    --Ties broken by SOS
---good wins vs bad losses factored
  3. at-large teams
    a. conference standings factored
    a. Overall record vs SOS factored
    b. good wins vs. bad losses
*getting blown out counts as a bad loss, regardless of quality of opponent
*wins in conference championship games are counted as another conference win
This will take you to my Google Doc that I used to set everything up
Here are my seeds for the conference champions
  1. Clemson
  2. Western Kentucky
  3. San Diego State
  4. Arkansas State
  5. Alabama
  6. Michigan State
  7. Oklahoma
  8. Houston
  9. Stanford
  10. Bowling Green
And the first 5 at-large teams
  11. Ohio St
  12. Iowa
  13. Notre Dame
  14. North Carolina
  15. Oklahoma State

  16. that 16th team is up to all of you. I've got it narrowed down to TCU, FSU, and a 10-2 Navy team (they still need to beat Army (and yes, my numbers suggest that a win for the Middies is enough to give them some serious consideration))

Once the last team is set, I will release the bracket!

Navy's win over Army was not enough to tip the scales, so TCU will get the last spot.

Bracket will get posted tomorrow if I feel like it, or Monday if I don't.
