No surprise here, as arguably Wisconsin's most important players on each side of the ball made the Big Ten's version of a preseason all-conference team.

With Big Ten media days getting underway Thursday in Chicago, the conference announced its preseason Players to Watch list. Wisconsin has two players on the list in running back Corey Clement and safety Michael Caputo.

No surprise there: Clement and Caputo are arguably Wisconsin's most important players on each side of the ball and likely candidates to be captains this season. They're also part of Wisconsin's media days contingent, along with quarterback Joel Stave and head coach Paul Chryst.

Clement will be a junior this season after backing up Melvin Gordon last season, and there are no doubts he's ready for primetime. Last season, he averaged 6.5 yards per carry, rushing 147 times for 949 yards and nine touchdowns. As a receiver, he caught 14 passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns. This preseason, he made the Doak Walker Award and Maxwell Award watch lists.

Caputo will be a redshirt senior after leading the team with 106 tackles last season. This preseason, he's on the Lott IMPACT Trophy, Bednarik Award, Jim Thorpe Award and Bronco Naguriski Award watch lists.

Below is the full Big Ten preseason Players to Watch list. Keep it here on B5Q for much more from Big Ten media days.
