It will take more time to type this piece out than it likely did for the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball program to sell out its student section for the 2016-17 season. That’s because it took all of three minutes for the student section tickets to be gone.

With the likes of Nigel Hayes, Ethan Happ and Bronson Koenig all returning, the excitement level over this team is clearly at an all-time high and it led to the record-setting sell out time to say the least.

The tickets to the Grateful Red section went on sale at 7am this morning and in three minutes all 2,100 of the tickets were gone according to a release by the athletic department.

However, those students who missed out on the action during the school sessions may still have an opportunity to purchase tickets for the three games slated to be played in Madison while school is out of session.

A three-game pack can be purchased for $30 and those games would include Dec. 23 vs. Florida A&M, Dec. 27 vs. Rutgers and Jan. 12 vs. Ohio State.

You can bet the Students will want to be out in force for that last matchup, and there will also be the availability to purchase single-game tickets for the student section over those three games. Tickets for the individual games will be $11 and can start to be purchased on Oct. 17.

Let’s just say those tickets are likely to be snapped up just as fast as the ones that were on Thursday morning for the full-season package.
