  1. Denver Broncos

Denver may be behind New England and Indianapolis in the AFC, but they can still be considered in the very good to elite range in the AFC they’re still the class in the West. Peyton Manning returns with most of his weapons and an excellent running game to help keep the pressure off him. The defense is moving to Wade Phillips 3-4 defense, which is a more natural fit for both Demarcus Ware and Von Miller. The loss of Terrance Knighton may hurt but the Broncos should be fine. Chris Harris, an elite and under appreciated cornerback will lead the secondary. Expect Denver to have no lower than the 3 seed in the AFC Playoffs. They will only lose once at home, to Green Bay of course.

  1. Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City has an elite running game and an elite Defense and with Justin Houston, who signed a lengthy extension this summer. The addition of Jeremy Maclin in free agency should help Alex Smith finally end the season long streak of Chiefs wideouts not catching a touchdown pass. The selection of Marcus Peters in the draft should ease the loss of Sean Smith, who faces a suspension for the first three weeks of the season. The Chiefs, as usual, will be a legitimate playoff contender.

  1. San Diego Chargers

The Chargers may not boast the offensive attack we’ve grown accustom to while Antonio Gates is suspended, but will still be very good. The Chargers have a top 10 QB in Phillip Rivers and should have a much improved and healthier run game than 2014. The Chargers Defense looks good as ever in 2015, and they should compete for a playoff spot. The offensive line needs to improve, but the addition of Melvin Gordon should make this team fun to watch. The biggest question looming over the Chargers camp is will they be playing in San Diego in 2016, or make the move to the greener pastures of Los Angeles?

  1. Oakland Raiders

Another team with rumors of moving (back) to Los Angeles are the Raiders. The Raiders’ offense has improved with a year of experience under Derek Carr’s belt, and the selection of Amari Cooper. The defense should be solid but will still finish under .500 and miss the playoffs again. The Raiders are a year or two away from making the playoffs but are heading in the right direction, and should at least move out of the top 5 picks in the draft next year.
