Per James Jones reporting that Rodgers new deal will average 33.5 million a year and include 100 million in guarantee's.

Adding to @89JonesNTAF: Aaron Rodgers will receive $80 million between now and next March, source says

#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is signing his name to his 4-year contract extension as we speak and when he does, he’ll net a $57.5M signing bonus. By the end of 2018, thanks to his $134M extension, Rodgers gets $66.9M.

The #Packers are $10.9 million under the cap. They will be able to spread his $57.5M signing bonus over six years, which is $9.58M. He already was counting $20.5M against cap, but his $19.8M base salary this year was probably reduced to fit in the new pro-rated bonus money.

Now question is does Rodgers see all 6 years in GB?

Don't know the details regarding CAP implications, but I think this makes it impossible for the Packers to move on for at least 4 years or there would be a huge hit. Now, if AR decides to retire, that would be a different story.

Not sure, but he might get his full salary this year and the signing bonus hits next March (new business year). That would be right about $80M.
That would make the signing bonus spread over 5 yrs.

That’s a crazy amount of money for a soon to be 35 year old QB !

Aaron Rodgers new deal with the Packers will be worth $176 million to $180 million total, per source. Big feature is cash flow: $67m before end of calendar, over $80m before St. Patrick’s Day next year, $103m practically guaranteed, per source.

I knew this was coming but your playing russian roulette with a guy that has broke his collarbone on both sides etc. If it works out and they win another title all is well... if he fails to do so or gets hurt early then this deal will be scrutinized for many years. tc(
