2025 Badger Football Thread

Does the alumni not just care that UW has such a weak NIL collective or does UW not have good enough people to pump the alumni to fund a NIL collective?
The alumni as a whole are not all in right now and very apprehensive supporting this staff. Wisconsin just doesn't have deep pockets, but it's also about the destination. It's very hard to get a kid from the SE to go Madison or to take away a recruit from elsewhere that say Texas or Miami is recruiting.
Culture and demographics count in all this.

Yeah I'll say it...Michigan, USC, Penn State, etc aren't bringing in kids with that skill set they are raiding the SEC/ACC etc for talent. This whole chip on their shoulder, hungry BS went the way of the dodo 20 years ago.

Talent matters and without it, back to the 80's we go.
I know, but that's all we got.

I completely agree that talent almost always wins, that there are more exciting places to play than Madison Wisconsin, and that money usually acquires talent.

And, I'll agree that Wisconsin typically is not the most talented team on the field, that not everyone wants to experience Wisconsin winters, and that Wisconsin certainly does not appear to be competing in the NIL arena.

I can't change any of those things.

However, Wisconsin did win while being less talented and with a less alluring environment. And, we typically did it by having a chip on the shoulder, being hungry, and grit. We gave overlooked guys a shot and they played hard.

Unfortunately, in the current era that's all we have. And, probably all we're going to get. So we're either going to find away or fade away.

I realize how hard and improbable it will be to make Bucky a winner, but I'm going to hope it happens.

Lucas portal situation getting worse.

Sure as hell hope Wisconsin has legitimate reasons for what i believe is BS stunt

the optics are terrible..... makes UW look like a halfassed program

I didn't even get into the optics. You're absolutely correct. The optics could be worse than any legal ramifications.

I think the kid's attorney is being kind and diplomatic. If Wisconsin doesn't show its side in a few days, he'll file an emergency injunction and crush Wisconsin.

This just doesn't make sense to me.

If Wisconsin has some legitimate reason to be doing this, they better show it and show it soon.

This post should put some perspective on what UW does. Not a good look.
