2025 Badger Football Thread

okay, so this is not the badgers, but i'm watching syracuse and washington state. washington state is going through the same kind of $#!+ that the badgers are with the portal. they lost their starting qb, their starting right tackle and several other players including their primary defensive linemen, as well as some coaches. none of the pregame announcers gave them a chance of winning this game. but they are leading 21-14 as the second quarter starts. the players are all fired up and performing well as a team in all three facets. they scored td #2 on a long pass play, and td#3 on a blocked punt/scoop and score. it's still early, so who knows if they can keep this up. but their not just rolling over.

They gave up 52 points....hardly inspiring

yeah, after i posted that, they kinda fell apart. but they came out fired up and took an early lead. i think the problem was that they lost the entire defensive front line to the portal and the heaviest guy they had on the front line was 185 pounds. they just couldn't stand up to the offensive front in the long run.

The Cougars (8-5) lost their fourth straight game but were spirited despite losing coach Jake Dickert to Wake Forest, quarterback John Mateer to Oklahoma, both coordinators and the quarterbacks and running backs coach, as well as having more than 20 players enter the transfer portal.

I gotta say, this is all majorly off putting for the sport itself. Who wants to follow this stuff? I guess you just show up in late summer and watch whatever team shows up but it’s all a buzzkill for excitement and anticipation.

amen to that. a new team every year. and not just a few new players. a whole new team. no loyalty whatsoever.

Spot on

Wisconsin is promoting Jack Cooper to safeties coach,Cooper has worked at Wisconsin the last two seasons after three years as the defensive coordinator at Rhode Island. Previously worked at Nebraska and UCF.

Sad not having a Bowl Game. Hope Ciach Fick turns this around.

Even sadder, if he does and we have a Keg Man happy season - College Football Playoffs - or just a really good we're back with a big Bowl Game, we'll probably have the same transfer portal exodus for greener pastures.
