2024 NFL Season Thread

It seems almost impossible to have such good QB play/production with a losing record. The rest of the team has to be catastrophically bad, at least situationally, for that to happen.
i was looking at their record, and they have some close losses to good teams.
they lost by six points to the patriots (okay, not a good team).
they lost by one point to the chiefs.
they lost by five points to the commanders.
they lost by three points to the ravens the first time.
they lost by twenty points to the eagles. the only blowout loss.
they lost by one point to the ravens the second time.
they lost by seven points to the chargers.

I know in the Chargers game their kicker missed two kicks that would’ve won it for them before SD got the ball back and scored. It’s been that kind of year.

Its just one of those years for them. The team's stacked with talent. You know how @rpiotr01 talks about the ball bouncing the wrong way for Love this year, in regards to INT's? Well, it happens to NFL teams with wins and losses. Sometimes a razor thin line between winning and losing. Unreal with all the talent they have but they've just not been able to get over the hump this year. Slow starts and always chasing points.

Jets are a dumpster fire. On the way to work today SiriusXM NFL talking about how when the Jets hired Robert Saleh the day of the PC to introduce him Woody Johnson told Saleh that he was his brother's hire not his because Woody had just left the post of ambassador to the UK and his brother was running the team. (which may happen again). Also it was Woody Johnson who had been the one to want to go after and give up draft picks for a Aaron Rodgers who was knocking on the door of 40 years old and that reports now say it was Johnson who wanted to have Rodgers benched after a week 4 loss to Denver.

So Woody has gotten rid of the HC and GM and likely will not want Rodgers back for next year. I can't see anyone who is worth a spit wanting either the HC or GM role if Woody is going to be micro-managing the team like he has.

He begged Rodgers to play for the Jets, forced him onto the coach and GM, paid him a ton of money and now wants to utterly humiliate his QB by benching him?

Johnson sounds a lot like Jerry Jones a ego-manic who needs to control every aspect of running the team.

The difference is that Jerry likes and respects his star players. Benching Rodgers because the defense can't hold a lead would be shocking. Going out of your way to embarrass a HOFer is almost unforgivable. Johnson bought Rodgers, they're 3-8, let him play out the season and then move on. There are ways to do this right.

The media sure has soured on Aaron Rodgers . . . . they're finally seeing him for what he is now and not who he was in his prime before he went all diva.
