Practice Starts at: 10:10 AM CT

General:

  • No Pads Today
Not Practicing: OL Simon Stepaniak (Personal)

Injuries: OT David Bakhtiari (PUP ACL), TE Josiah Deguara (PUP ACL), TE Dominique Dafney (PUP Knee), RB Patrick Taylor (PUP Groin), LB Ray Wilborn (COVID), DT Kingsley Keke (NFI Ankle), CB Kevin King (NFI Hamstring), OLB Za'Darius Smith (NFI Back), CB Will Redmond (NFI Foot), LB Isaiah McDuffie (NFI Hamstring)

Offense:

  • WR Chris Blair and TE Isaac Nauta are back today. Stepaniak is out for personal reasons according to team spokesman.
  • Davante getting after Chris Blair for not finishing a drill at full speed. The standard is the standard.
  • Robert Tonyan is playing with supreme confidence right now and catching everything. Just had a nice finger tip catch in drills but it’s been the same in teams.
  • Joe Barry is playing scout team QB.
  • Braden gets the first reps with the 1s today. Jenkins, Braden, Myers, Patrick, Turner.
  • Lazard finds a big hole in the coverage under Amos and Rodgers doesn’t miss him. Big gain from 12 to 13.
  • It is incredible how comfortable Josh Myers looks at center making checks and calls at the line. Training camp 4 and he’s absolutely the guy at center. Impressive start.
  • Winfree comes back to an underthrown ball from Love but still finds a way to make the catch. Ka’Dar in coverage.
  • Fantastic run by Kylin Hill with a great cut into space. Big gain.
  • Jordan Love checks into a strong side run to Dexter. Was the right call and Williams picks up nice yardage. Nice read by the 2nd year QB.
  • Deep ball to Tonyan on a corner route. Ball hung up a bit too long. Believe it was Rodgers on the throw. Savage got there early and would have been an easy PI call.
  • No question about it, Dexter Williams is running with much better contact balance. Kylin has more raw talent but Williams experience will help him.
  • Rodgers to Cobb underneath and the crowd goes wild
  • Benkert deep to Bailey Gaither for a TD.
  • Rodgers deep to Adams for a TD. Stokes torched by Adams on a double move. Looked like secondary was late on a zone rotation, no one within 3 yards of him.
  • Rashan Gary drops into coverage, Rodgers initial read is gone, fires sideline to MVS, Jackson makes a diving attempt at the ball but comes up empty. Big gain down the sideline for 83.
  • Davante almost makes an unreal one handed catch. Just couldn’t corral it. Still a hell of an effort.
  • Great job by Jordan Love of somehow finding Randall Cobb while the pocket was absolutely collapsing all around him. Off platform throw was on target.
  • Bronson Kaufusi with a drop along the sideline. Transition to tight end is coming along slowly.
  • I haven’t called it out enough but Elgton Jenkins has been phenomenal at LT.
  • Tonyan finds some separation from Barnes but Rodgers is just a bit off and it falls incomplete. And even though Mike Pettine is gone you’ll be happy to know Preston Smith was back in coverage on the play.
  • Runyan getting some run at center with the 2s. But he did sail at least one over Love's head.
  • Rashan Gary just sprinted into the defensive huddle helmet-less to provide some last second intel to his guys. Defense got some pressure but it didn’t work, Love finds Gaither on a crosser for a nice gain.
  • Aaron Jones starts another team session with a huge run off left tackle. Runyan and Jenkins leading the way. Would have been one on one with Amos in the open field.
  • Rodgers just threw a 40 yard pass to Adams deep down the right seam, while rolling to his right with Jackson in coverage with Amos help over top. Unbelievable. Without Jaire nobody has a chance at stopping Adams right now and Rodgers and Adams are just going off.
  • Kylin Hill is such a fluid runner. Everything looks easy to him. Quick decision maker too.
  • Jordan Love almost got the defense to jump with the hard count. Ends up completing one to Sternberger in the right flat. Nice use of cadence from the young QB.
  • MVS giving AJ Dillon a route running tutorial on the sideline. Fun to watch but that leg difference is insane. Arguably the slimmest vs thickest quads on the team.
  • James Jones just got down in a stance in front of Rodgers, Adams and Cobb on the sideline. He wants a rep bad. Photo
  • Kurt Benkert launches one deep to Bailey Gaither, but it lands just past his intended target.
  • Dexter Williams with another really nice run during the developmental period. Running behind Newman and Nijman.
  • Love made a few nice throws/progressions in dev period. Hit Amari Rodgers on swing pass and closed practice by hitting Malik Taylor on a stop route through traffic
Defense:

  • S Henry Black has returned from NFI.
  • Josh Jackson and Eric Stokes with the ones at CB. Might be being cautious w Jaire.
  • Kenny Clark setting the LOS against both Braden and Turner. Filled the gap and gave the RB nowhere to go. Nice play by Clark.
  • Krys Barnes showing some quicks as he explodes from ILB to the backfield on an outside toss to stop Dillon for a loss. Best play of camp for Barnes.
  • Tipa with some quick pressure on Jordan Love.
  • Nice pass rush combo from Lowry and Summers for what would have been a sack on Rodgers.
  • Again dropping Adrian Amos in the box with their 3-safety look. With Henry Black off NFI, he drops back as deep safety with Darnell Savage Jr. It was Vernon Scott deep with Savage when Black was on NFI. Reminder Will Redmond still out injured and it was Redmond in that spot in OTAs and Minicamp.
  • TJ Slaton sheds a block and stuffs Dexter Williams at the LOS. Slaton continues his strong start.
  • PBU by Kamal Martin on an in-breaking route intended for Nauta. Ball looked low from Love anyway but nice play by Kamal.
  • During a break in team reps, Aaron Rodgers put his arm around Eric Stokes’ shoulders and had a conversation. Couldn’t hear what was said, but looked like that proverbial “welcome to the NFL” moment after 12 spent past couple days torching him.
  • Delontae Scott seems to be a little shook up after a play. Was able to get to his sidelines. Will keep an eye on him to see if he gets back in.
  • Carlo Kemp, who had caught my eye a couple times just had a stop at the LOS on Kylin Hill.
Special Teams:

  • Crosby 8-8 on FG from 33 to 53. All no doubt.

Press Conference Notes:

Matt LaFleur
Presser

  • Matt LaFleur says he is "ramping it up" at practice today, pushing it close to the 2-hour mark. Off day tomorrow. No pads until Tuesday. So today will be aggressive. "As we progress into camp, the practices will get longer on some days."
  • Matt LaFleur on Jaire Alexander's presser yesterday: "He was -- that was pretty special. Not sure what he was talking about, but I sure enjoyed the message."
  • Matt LaFleur says first rounder Eric Stokes learned yesterday why it's vital for CBs to have an especially short memory at this level with the TD he gave up to Davante Adams despite tight coverage in the red zone. "That was a pretty freaky move."
  • Matt LaFleur asked about the benefits of joint practices. "I know not everybody's a fan of it (smiles)."
  • LaFleur says they haven’t talked about making roster decisions based on vaccinations. Reiterates “personal decision.”
MVS Presser

  • WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Randall Cobb: "He's one of the best vets I've ever been around. between him and Davante, I haven't had a better vet to teach me how to be a vet."
  • MVS with a big smile when asked about how well Aaron Rodgers has played since camp opened: "He's the best in the game. It's Aaron Rodgers. ... I don't care what he does in the offseason, he's going to come in and be ready to throw a football at any time, from any angle."
  • MVS asked if he's still the fastest Packers player even with Eric Stokes on the team, doesn't skip a beat: "Yeah, no question."
  • MVS says that every day he walks into the locker room and makes fun of Kenny Clark’s weight or how big his head is.
AJ Dillon Presser

  • AJ Dillon said he's made it a point to catch as many passes as possible during the off-season. "It's part of my game I want to keep developing," he said.
  • Dillon said nothing is promised to him this year, but he intends to be ready for a key role. "You get out there you don't expect to be No. 2 or No. 3, you prepare to be No. 1," he said.
  • AJ Dillon says he's not merely considering running for Door County mayor. "I'm going to run for mayor."
  • RB AJ Dillon said QB Jordan Love is a really even-keeled person. The two are represented by the same group as Aaron Rodgers and they got to know each other before the draft. They have become good friends and he feels Love has handled the off-season well.
  • AJ Dillon said "all help is encouraged" for his next attempt at a Lambeau Leap.
Amari Rodgers Presser

  • "It's a dream come true," Amari Rodgers says of working with Randall Cobb Back in the day, working out with Randall Cobb was like "working out with LeBron."
  • Amari Rodgers had seen Aaron Rodgers' no-look passes a few times early in camp, but admitted he wasn't ready when it came to him couple days ago. Impressive that a rookie could pull himself together quick enough to catch it anyway. Said he caught a compliment from Aaron afterwards.
  • More Packers beef: Randall Cobb said he’s taller than Amari Rodgers. Rodgers seems to disagree. He says he thinks Cobb’s cleats are just bigger. Told Cobb is listed at 5’10” and he at 5’9,” Rodgers is quick to say he’s actually 5’10.”
  • Amari Rodgers has never faced off against his dad Tee Martin but will Week 15 vs BAL. Family has already talked about the matchup but Rodgers is competitive and wants the win vs dad.
