2021 Draft Simulator

I wouldn't consider taking Farley at 29, unless I had my own physicians check his back out, and give me a go-ahead. We already have enough guys on the injured list with issues that started in college. Now, if it was in the 2nd round, I'd grab him in a heartbeat. But we all know there are teams that will gamble early, and he's going to be gone, probably before #29.

I see no way GB would consider a center at 29. I think it's more likely Jenkins goes to center. Now do they draft a OT at 29 maybe.

I can't see it either. Until they break their trend, I'll keep focusing on the "higher value" positions that Ron Wolf espoused - OT, DT, Edge Rusher, CB and QB, Their recent drafts also suggest they value S more now than they did in the past.

I'm not even going to consider C, OG, RB, WR, TE, or ILB until they break that trend. It's been 15 years since they took one of these "lower value" positions in Rd 1.

A lot of centers come from the ranks of guards. Quite a few can make the transition, as long as they can master the long snap.

PFF made what I think is a good point about the WR. There are a couple guys in the draft this year marketed as “true slot” types, but if you look at the most productive WR in the NFL from the slot, it’s almost entirely outside receivers who move inside to take advantage of matchups. Davante Adams was No 1, Justin Jefferson No 2, etc. So when drafting a WR in the first or early 2nd, you should be targeting the guys who have a better overall game, because the specialists still aren’t likely to be the best at that position at the NFL level.
I think what ML wants is a WR in the mold of Ervin and Austin to run the gadget stuff (motion, jet sweep, etc) and who can also be the K/P returner as well.
But I think that they also want another WR2 type player as well.
So we could see 2 or 3 WR’s taken in this draft.
Same goes for CB & S. (2 or 3)

I’ve seen several players listed as G/C in the pre-draft process. Like the Whitewater kid, Meinerz.
Packers likely value IOL with that versatility.

The trend has been bigger WR. They wanted Aiyuk, had interest in Claypool and Lazard 6-4 as is Funchess. If a WR gets called in think it’s late unless someone falls. I can see CB’s

I think one would have very early buyers remorse if you spend a 1-2 on one of those slot type guys. I mean, he runs the motions of the gadget stuff but they never really run those plays, just the threat of it gets guys open. If Bateman fell I think they’d be all over him, after that it’s Day 3.

Heavens no! I wouldn’t spend a 1st or 2nd on a Slot WR!
earliest would be 3rd, preferably 4th.

Yes, the trend is bigger. But there is a role in ML’s offense for that gadget guy (unlike MM’s), but he needs to be a kick return guy as well.
