2021 Badgers Football Thread

Probably 2 cycles if you get it right. If a freshman is talented especially at skill positions they play. OL is a bit different, more a strength issue.
Thing is hitting a couple really good ones in row might not happen might take 3-4 solid ones to get a good base set up and just need to keep it up then

It's really not in his head but in his feet and mechanics. Again, pure spread QB. "The essential principles of productive quarterback play [footwork, balance, transfer of weight and timing] are often compromised in the spread." >> Tom Luginbill, national recruiting director for ESPN's Scouts Inc.
Mark though some throws in games when he's been getting hit seems like he was hearing footsteps in his head and making bad rushed throws.

So no, the "it's in his head" is incorrect. It's the culmination of the things above. He needs better coaching, a much better group of WR, and an OL that can hold longer than 2 seconds in pass pro. If you don't fix the last two then I don't care who's behind center they will struggle.
With all these problems, what young QB wouldn't be gun-shy, and make poor decisions?

I look back at that first game, against Illinois, and it was the perfect storm of what his game can be, under the right conditions. None of that has been repeated, because the opposition has adapted. Now it's up to the coaching staff to improve his mechanics under the conditions he's seeing now, and the offensive line needs to become better at stopping the pass rush.

I look at the Illinois game as an outlier, he was ok vs Michigan then Covid hit and he hit a wall. I dont think its it’d as much others adjusting as much surrounding talent and let’s face it Illinois was awful

Wisconsin better step up the recruiting, Myles Burkett?? A MAC quality QB? Blahhh How about Viny Anthony their stud WR recruit ? Oh yeah he was looking at Army, Air Force, and Duke expldhed(

I mean for the love of god yes the resources are poor but come on.... That's the best you got PC?

Staff continuity has hurt the last 2-3 years (WR coach / RB coach). OL they have been ok if you take stars as an indictor, its skill positions ... they seem to be fine on the other side of the ball but that one place there has been continuity.
