20 years ago the draft that changed the Packers history. No one thought Aaron Rodgers would be there at 24 to pick. I remember watching the 1st round and as Rodgers fell was thinking if he's there I hope GB takes him. I was tired of the Favre BS of will I or will I not retire games he had been playing for several years now in the off-season. I thought Rodgers could have been the #1 draft pick and when it was announced GB took him I cheered. I also thought all the people booing at the draft party in GB were morons.

Reading this article it is kind of crazy that Rodgers did slide all the way to 24. There were a lot of bad and over the hill QB's starting for the other teams. Today you have teams making big reaches in the top 10 even the top 5 to take a risk on getting a franchise QB. No way a QB of Rodgers talent today would slide like he did.

Also in this article SF HC at the time Nolan said how Rodgers had the most NFL ready arm. That turned out wrong IMO. Had Rodgers started right away I think he would have been a bust. He carried the ball to high next to his ear and that is something MM was able to correct with him and help make him the HOF QB he became.

Then 15 years later we go through almost the same thing again with having a older franchise QB and taking the young QB instead of the WR that most fans wanted.
