Pack claims Punt Returner

I just want to see the Packers get positive return yardage by end of season!

At least Packers still got a 6th for Davis

I’d say Ervin did just fine in the punt return game.

Here is my detailed analysis of what went right for him:

1. He caught the ball and ran straight forward. I know that’s counterintuitive, because there are four directions you can run in, and why take three of them off the table? That’s what our previous returners thought but Ervin wanted to keep things simple and just run straight ahead and it worked out well for the Pack.

2. When approached by members of the opposing team, he put two arms around the ball and fell forward. Again, so many things you can do with your arms - stiff arm, spin them wildly in circles like Wyle E Coyote when he runs off a cliff - but Ervin made the positive choice to just protect the ball.

There you have it: catch the ball and move forward, and protect the ball. Some real outside the box thinking got us back in the black.

But what about his pad level?????

So far so good. We have a return man who knows you run North and South, not East and West.
