i don't think the athletic has stooped to that level yet. but i also don't think that writer was very knowledgeable about the players we let go (an why) or the players that we added. nor is he taking into account the growth of existing players that were not starters.

And it's somewhat surprising, but maybe not, that it appears a knowledge of the sport you are writing about is not necessary.

Doing some work around the house this weekend I threw on three random packer games from last season. Man our run game sucked. I guess it didnt feel quite that bad during the season but woof. Just tons of 1-2-3 yard gains, no momentum, no nothing. Tough way to play. I hope we see some improvement there this year.

Combination of awful blocking and IMHO no one behind our starting RB having much talent.

I think the surprise was that re-watching, I thought Jacobs had lost a step. I know he was injured last year and still came through around the goal line, but neither he nor anyone else could really slash through the zone blocks like Aaron Jones could. I see why they are dying to see what Loyd can do because he should be a great fit for this but he can't be trusted with the injuries. Between that and Jacobs legal issues there is a decent shot the Week 1 starter at RB isn't on the roster right now.

I am not a huge fan of what we got sans Jacobs for sure. I doubt Jacobs gets charged at this point.
