I just don't understand the coaching decisions.

It would have been a great upset if Wisconsin had beaten Minnesota. But, that was always unlikely. Why pull your freshman quarterback? I don't get it. It's not like Simmons was great - He had 1 good pass and a lot of that was a missed tackle that sprung our guy. Simmons threw 2 interceptions in the second half and ended Wisconsin's chances.

I don't get why we didn't ride the kid and hope something strange and wonderful happened. It probably would not have changed the result - but somehow, he did get some stuff done in a horribly ugly unconventional style.

I've defended the coaching staff a lot. Said, what can they do, they're playing with 3rd to 5th stringers (Wisconsin 3rd to 5th stringers), but Holy Cow.

We're stuck with Coach Fick and Company. I know he's getting reamed daily. But the kids are playing hard for them.

Next year, he needs to have:

1) AN OFFENSIVE LINE THAT GRADES THE ROAD or at the very least can plow an inch or two of snow. There are 10 mean and nasty guys out there somewhere. He needs to find them.

2) A Quarterback. Holy Cow, how can it be this bad. I expect a D1 Scholarship - even 3d string - to be able to hit the broad side of a barn door. How can we never get a QB that can? How? It doesn't make sense to me.

Is Wisconsin great? Not close. But get those 2 things straightened out and Bucky can become competitive.

Regarding the Transfer Portal. I hope the defense stays. I don't care whether any offensive lineman or quarterback leaves - yes, it will be hard to fill their spots, but really, what did any of them do to keep their scholarship and any NIL deals?

Michigan State fired its head coach after 2 bad seasons because it's not up to standard. MSU is in pursuit of former NW HC Pat Fitzgerald. UW plays MSU next season.

This whole coaching decision on the QB was just Fick and Grimes being STUPID. Simmons has shown you over a number of games that he's not good. He always has a few nice throws in every outing but he's just not good over a large number of snaps. Benching Smith for a guy who's not good and a is senior who's gone anyway risks also losing Smith and never developing a QB and hitting the portal every year.
