- Love hits Musgrave for about 10 on a short crosser, off play-action.
- Doubs sits down in the zone over the middle. Love finds him for 20 in front of Bullard.
- Willis touch pass over the LB, complete to Fitzpatrick. Sliding catch on sideline.
- Reed just got hit and caught the deflection on his back.
- Reed makes a circus catch in traffic, grabbing the deflected pass as he’s falling to the ground. Gets a big cheer from the Nitschke Field crowd for that one.
- Jordan Love looking reaaallll sharp in today’s team periods.
- Love to Matthew Golden on a crossing route past the sticks. Good coverage, but it was a dart on the money, another nice play for the now 22-year-old wearing #22. Matthew Golden is fuckin’ legit man.
- We just saw why the Packers think Savion Williams can be so intriguing in this offense. First time — I believe — Matt LaFleur called a play for Savion in motion. Juked the whole defense out while Williams was down the sideline already. So much versatility.
- Oh no. Jordan Love just rolled out and saw Emanuel Wilson wide open in the end zone. Love overthrew Wilson. Wilson leaped for the ball that was out of reach, came down, and is in a ton of pain. Wilson is walking off with trainers. Did not look good by his body language.
- Anthony Belton got a handful of reps with the ones at LT.
- 2nd straight productive practice for TE Luke Musgrave. Just caught a short TD pass from Willis after earlier catches from Love.
- Willis throws a dart to Hicks at the front pylon for a TD. Nice low throw & catch away from defender.
- Good box by Romeo Doubs vs Valentine for a TD at the back of end zone. Good touch by Love too. Doubs has had a strong week
- Fitzpatrick getting some work with the ones in red zone. Just caught a TD from Love.
- Jordan Love threw 3 straight TD passes in RedZone to Doubs, Heath, and Fitzpatrick.
- Stackhouse running with the twos in teams. LaFleur said he’s earning more opportunities. I suspect we see him mixed in with the ones sooner rather than later.
- Micah Robinson getting two reps opposite Melton with Hobbs and Hadden out today
- Really nice rep from Warren Brinson to flush Willis out of the pocket. Had to let up because of the red jersey but good chance he would have had the sack.
- Walker keeps watching 11-on-11 reps from several dozen yards behind the defense. Same thing Cooper did last year at this time when he was hurt.
- Malik Willis has gotten the DL to bite a few times on zone reads but Barryn Sorrell will not be fooled. Would’ve been a big TFL
- Good coverage from Kalen King to break up end zone fade for Heath
- And on cue, Stackhouse getting some reps with the ones in red zone.
Interviews:
- Matt LaFleur
- Says today will be a scaled-back practice with only three team periods.
- On Jayden Reed: "Nothing long term. His foot was bothering him." Says it may have been his cleats.
- On pass rush: "There were multiple times yesterday where Jordan [Love] is going to get hit or he can't step up in the pocket, and that's exactly what you want from your pass rush." He also mentions DeMarcus Covington, Vince Oghobaase, and Wendel Davis as reasons for improvement.
- On Nazir Stackhouse: "He's earning more and more opportunities. I think at some point, we're going to have to see him get in there versus our [No. 1 offense]."
