Packers 2022 Thread

Generally speaking, most of information out there is speculation/opinion. Even so called sourced information is 2nd hand, and pretty much speculation on the part of someone who is closer to an issue than someone else. It's still usually an opinion.

How can the media be so wrong? It's easy. Take a look at this headline in the Chicago Daily Tribune back in 1948.

Opinion and speculation based on facts is fine. Opinion and speculation based on nothing is the problem.

The draft blogs are a perfect example. There are a few people who spend countless hours of watching film, taking to scouts and coaches and build their case with facts. 95% probably watch a highlight reel or a few games on ESPN and draw a conclusion that some fans take as gospel.

Sourced information is fine as long as multiple legitimate sources back up the fact. I know some folks get on some “insiders” but nobody is 100% perfect. Comes down to believe what you want from who

Who was the guy who was with the Dallas paper? He used to do a mock that was always pretty accurate

This is true almost all news of any kind now is opinion based.

CBS-crap
ESPN- overpriced crap
The rest....Kind of meh

None of them have been very trustworthy the past 4-5 years. It is what it is. Frankly, it's not worthy of 3 pages of discussion.

I try to gauge when the Packers will be on the clock to catch their picks. Outside of that, watching the draft is like going downtown Mauston or Waupaca on a Saturday afternoon, and sitting on a bench watching cars rust in a rain storm.

When your team picks around #30 year after year after year, that 1st round pick becomes, kind of, anti-climactic

Rick Gosselin, he stopped a few years ago.

Like I said sometimes there’s a lot of smoke and a lot of fire. Prisco was all over Clark. I think the same year or a year later Mark here was alllll over Spriggs to GB. Sometimes you catch the right wind but no one is really consistent with it any more.
