So ML has no power just because you say so? He has no balls? Again, what is he responsible for then?Come on man we've been here before.... it's becoming obvious what's going on. Call a spade a spade already.

he won't really have much to do until murphy is fired and rodgers is traded. Then it's a shame. What is he responsible for then? Seems the front office makes all personnel moves on and off field and then Rodgers makes all the on field decisions.
I get all that, and don't disagree, but no one is understanding my point as this paints the picture of an inept or figure head coach. ML should be incensed, yet I don't get that feeling. Makes ML look weak, imo.Bud, just look at Mike Pettine. Murphy forced a two year shotgun marriage between MP and ML. The two are professional and I don't think they didn't get along but it took two years of winning for ML to get the sway to get his own DC in there. However there's no question about it, Murphy meddles. He has a say in this stuff. Always been that way since 2019. Two more years until he has to retire.
So ML is sorta like Bilichick. All world coach, stuck under the boot of The Murph and he won't prove that until he gets out of Cleveland, er Green Bay!?!?he won't really have much to do until murphy is fired and rodgers is traded.
i mean, how do we know he's a great coach if rodgers was calling all the plays? So ML is sorta like Bilichick. All world coach, stuck under the boot of The Murph and he won't prove that until he gets out of Cleveland, er Greeen Bay!?!?
Coach creates the culture, he runs the locker room, he runs the game. It's not like he's doing nothing. A GM usually provides the ingredients and the coach cooks with them, so to speak. But in this case, Murphy has decided he's doing the shopping for both the locker room and the coaches floor.I get all that, and don't disagree, but no one is understanding my point as this paints the picture of an inept or figure head coach. Exactly. And the front office makes all the personnel moves without input. Might as well have me as HC.i mean, how do we know he's a great coach if rodgers was calling all the plays?
I get where you’re coming from Bud, but let’s look at this from ML’s point of view.So ML is sorta like Bilichick. All world coach, stuck under the boot of The Murph and he won't prove that until he gets out of Cleveland, er Green Bay!?!?
Thanks danno. You nailed it. I appreciate you understanding and we'll see what happens when the contract talks happen. I know I wouldn't be happy working under those circumstances. A lot of us questioned the new power structure when The Murph outlined it. I'm just willing to give all parties their due negativity from me. If they all agreed, then to me, when they fail or succeed, it's on all of them.I get where you’re coming from Bud, but let’s look at this from ML’s point of view.
First time HC.
One of the youngest HC’s in the league.
Limited track record (of any kind) in running a team.
He get’s a dream offer to coach GB with a HOF in waiting QB.
One problem. To get this job he has to accept he has little/no say in draft, personnel, and coach hiring.
He accepts because this is his foot in the door to prove himself.
Until now, he’s had limited to no leverage to get what he wants.
BUT! His contract will be up shortly, and if I’m ML I’m telling Murphy what I want, or I’ll shop myself to another bidder.
I think he’s accepting his lot, at this time. But his day to exercise his leverage is coming. JMHO
interesting perspective. you have to wonder how much leverage he'll have when his narrow scope of duties is taken into consideration by potential suitors.I get where you’re coming from Bud, but let’s look at this from ML’s point of view.
