Post Game: Vikings Defeat Packers 34-31

Looking at snap count Rodgers only played 1 offensive snap the whole game. Winfree from the PS had more offensive snaps at 6.

To me the story of the game was the secondary's inability to locate and/or attack all the balls that Cousins put in harms way. He made his share of very good throws, but Savage mangling that INT which would have likely won GB the game was just awful, awful, awful. Stokes couldn't locate that duck to Jefferson for the go ahead TD. Douglas couldn't locate that out to Thielen which went for a first and a big gain on their GW drive. Amos failing to leave the center of the field quick enough to cover Jefferson on his first big catch down to the 2. All preventable plays with proper technique and that secondary has been so good at that stuff recently it was jarring to see them fail over and over. We'll see if it becomes a pattern.

Second disappointment was the penalties. There was absolutely some home cooking calls that went MN's way by Hochuli Secunda, but also some stupid stuff. Keke looks like he has some of that Mike Daniels, Z Smith stuff going where he just gets himself into dumb penalties. His wiped out an INT and allowed 7 on the board. The pressure forced Cousins into that bad throw, not the actual hit. He didn't need to go in helmet to helmet, you just can't do that and he KNOWS that, they all KNOW it. Of course it's a dumb rule but it happens over and over in the league, it's just not acceptable, the stakes are too high.

Anyway, very disappointing game overall, but fairly typical historically for playing in MN. You're gonna have a few of these every season, they had one in NO and here we are again. It happens, just have to get back to business.

Awful, could wipe out his 2022 season as well.

Giving up 34 points is NOT winning football.

I've been expecting this to happen for about 3 weeks now.
When guys like Galeai, Black, or Sullivan are playing, there is going to be a price to pay eventually, and the Vikings got theirs today.

With that said, it looked to me as if the defense still played with the same intensity that they have for the last 2 months. They just weren't very good, especially in the defensive backfield.

The OL has really regressed over the last few weeks, and it's having a direct affect on efficiency. Unfortunately, it's likely going to get worse before it gets better.

The fact we were still in it at the end is really amazing.
The defense was good, they just got all the key plays taken away. Not afraid of the Vikings.

Kirk Cousins was under pressure on 16 of 37 drop backs (43.2 percent). I know that is not a great number but better than I thought.

The Packers defense had 21 pressures but the King, Stokes, and Rasul Douglas allowed 231 passing yards on their coverage.

This makes me rethink things. Maybe our d-line played better than I thought. Our CB's were the reason for the Vikings moving the ball at all.

We need Jaire back
