Rodgers Wants Out

well technically team "voidable" but that came with some serious dead cap ramifications and both sides understood that, thats not really debatable. If in fact he gets to choose his destination, the team lost some leverage.
Thing is most players they are so happy when they get those big deals and happy first 2-3 years then cry when the guaranteed money is gone and the deal benefits the team for cap and players cry they are underpaid.

As to agents, the NFLPA has not done them many favors over the past few years. It’s not a love fest. Are some shady? Sure no question but most are up and up ethical and understand that it’s a business.
NFLPA I think capped agents pay at what 2%?

Yeah but players have said that union has called them saying to take biggest deal offered Granted that player said he did not because he was happy were he was despite having bigger offer from another team.
With cap and tag restrictions the union has little or no power to dictate player movement.

And they also get cut for cap purposes every year or restructure or your gone. And I was specifically addressing the Rodgers contract since deal is in its own way unique

And in many cases they are underpaid. But I am not going to paint a broad brush either. Personally I hate the way the NFL cap works but that’s a different discussion

Yeah but they want the market to go up not down every big contract just drives market up
That’s not really the case. It sets the bar to some extent but there is such a difference between AAV & real value it’s why structure matters

Me if you like the early part of the deal be ready to deal with back end or sign short 2-3 year deals get it fully guaranteed get yourself a big of the apple sooner.
