Well, I assume the likely addition of center transfer Chris Vogt takes the last 2021 scholarship. That puts an end to the microscopic sliver of hope for Baldwin. Since he's a one-year transfer it would leave a scholarship for 2022 as he will be the lone senior on the squad. (Davison and his scholarship don't count because of the one-time exception.)

Vogt does not look like the type of big UW usually recruits. Not much at all from the perimeter more of an inside presence. Crowl would be the guy who gets some minutes reduced out of this. Maybe a change in philosophy by Gard wanting an inside option

Vogt is horrible at the foul line. Can't shoot from outside. But he's a big kid who can disrupt shots on the inside. I think he can contribute from the start. Just not going to be a guy who puts up big numbers, or helps us at the line. Will need to improve on the boards. I dunno on this one. Depth only? Someone who can press Crowl in practice, and able to spell him so he doesn't end up with his tongue dragging on the floor? Dunno!

Maybe just a situational guy and minutes eater. They will be young and inexperienced in the middle next year. Plus their young big guys aren't particularly physical and that could hurt them against certain opponents. A big who can bump and bang down low might eat up some valuable minutes against certain opponents.

Depth only is my best guess. He seems like Jared Berggren without a pick and pop game but to be fair he even developed that late

This team got its lunch handed to them by physical bigs last year in conference, Garza, Edey, Cockbrun to name 3 off the top of my head. Edey is the only one back so not sure about the rest if the conference but the situational take makes sense

This is going to be a young Badgers team I think right now they are lookng to get some older guys with playing time just to help the young guys on this team. 2021 might be a year were these young guys are getting it figured out and 2022 might be the year to really expect something.

Not so much with Davison coming back. In reality you have 3 guys who played starter minutes in Davison, Wahl and Davis. The bench is a little green but Carslon got some early minutes before he got hurt. The thing with Vogt is he is not real versatile in this system so lets see how it plays out

back when i was in college, our team was pretty good for a small school. made the tourny most years. but like most teams in our conference, we had this one really big guy whose only real job was to go in for about 5-10 minutes and play football on the basketball court. he fouled out almost every game, and when he did he would invariably get a standing ovation on his way to the bench. do college teams still do that?

Vogt somewhat fits that category. He plays physically. You don't match up with a guy like Cockburn if you're thin and wiry. He'll bounce you off the walls of the arena, by flexing his muscles. You need to be physically committed to making him work for that shot. I think Vogt can help in that area, and even having him in practice guys will find it helps them learn to play against the behemoths.
