Who will be the Next GB Head Coach ?

I wonder what's next as far as Murphy is concerned. He could just as well dump Gutey and/or Ball, along with the entire coaching staff, and auxiliary staff. This could be a major purge before it's over. Then Murphy would have to build from the ground up, and what he creates he'd own, lock, stock, and barrel. No carry-overs in regards to anyone on board.

Just speculation, but I've been saying for two years now that things weren't functioning properly outside the lines, and it was creating discourse inside the lines.

Being completely pragmatic about everything that’s happened now.
The best coach isn’t a guy looking to squeeze the best out of Rodgers quickly without addressing all the shortcomings of this roster. And by shortcomings I mean OL and DL. Need a coach that is hell bent on fixing both lines and hires a staff that maximizes what’s in place with forward thinking offensive and defensive coordinators that compete for that coaches job.

That coach is Nick Saban with Pettine on Defense and a young wildcard on offense.
Saban has the hardware and stones to back down Rodgers if needed. And nobody understands the importance of good lines like Saban. He recruits the best every year for a reason.

He may not make the move. But he has the juice to keep Pettine, find the right genius on offense to work with Rodgers, and build a couple serious lines.

Ball is close to a lock as you can get. He’s Murphy’s right hand man in regards to the team and Titletown. Gute is fine as long as there is progress taking into consideration the shit show Thompson left him.

There are $33 million reasons that’s not happening (his buyout) and I can’t see GB matching his current compensation

Philbin is hired fans will tar and feather murphy

I would tend to think so but the ESPN article was interesting because the Murph said one positive of letting MM go was that they'd get a 4 game look at Philbin. Take it for what it's worth.

Rodgers has respected Philbin since his days as OC back in the run-up to the SB.

If Philbin and Rodgers show any kind of cohesiveness down the stretch, then you can't discount Philbin as not being in the running.

For sure, he won't be the only name considered, but if this 4 game audition shows promise, he's on level ground with every other candidate.

When Philbin was OC 2007-2011 Packers offense was Top Five in each of those years except SB year when they were seventh! What if suddenly the Offense starts firing on all cylinders and averages 30 pts/game the final four games?

I think all of this Philbin talk from Murphy was just "coach speak", what's he going to do say flat out he has no chance? PR move. If he runs the table maybe
