Bucky Hockey

We're at Ohio State next weekend and host Notre Dame the following.

We should lose to Ohio State and beat Notre Dame. Even if we somehow win all 4, I still think we need to win the B1G.

Right now, I think we're travelling for opening weekend of B1G tournament.

I wouldn't bet the farm on Bucky

Love your optimism.

Unfortunately, I think we need to win the B1G.

What makes you think they'll somehow get over .500 or do anything in the tourney? I'm just reading about them, and it's not good. Give me some hope
Nothing makes me think that, they've been woeful in big moments this year.

But they win faceoffs and they have some outstanding goal scorers. If we get mid-season Scarfone in net and cut out a few of these defensive lapses maybe something will get going.

Well Crease,

Bucky Hockey is officially done. I'm glad they suck so bad they aren't on TV out here.

Holy Cow, Bucky needed to win the last 4 games to have a shot. What does Bucky do? Starts third string goalie away at a much higher ranked team.

What happens? Ohio State blows out Bucky.

All hands on deck? These primadonna pretty boys have jumped ship. Something is rotten in Denmark

It's an ugly finish for sure, and yet another lost season (but at least we're not wasting a talent like Cole Caufield).

However, the guys I talk to seemed hopeful. It's not that Hastings is a bad coach. He can't be. In the three seasons before coming to Madison he went to the Frozen Four twice, won a bunch (.719) in a then-tougher conference (WCHA) at a smaller school with fewer resources.

We saw last year that he can take a roster and make it work. From what I hear the bigger boosters think the problem lies with the AD's office, and not with Hastings.

Thanks Crease. I enjoy your opinions because you're there or at least closer and appear to have some contacts that have a guy or have a guy that has a guy.

I'm stuck out here only reading about them - which does tell you something because good winning teams are broadcast and streamed.

Oh well

Do we get Ohio State? So does Bucky even get past being swept in the B1G Tourney?

Ohio St looks likely. It's possible Sparty and OSU could flip spots in the standings, but MSU has ND and OSU has Mich (both at home) so my guess is the seedings stand. We'll go to Columbus and yeah, get swept likely.

But we still landed a huge recruiting win over the weekend. Picked up a commitment from a Croatian kid playing in the USHL for the Lincoln Stars. 29 pts in 21 games so far. If the strategy is going to be to try and score more than the other team this kid will help.

Would still like to get better in the defensive zone and between the pipes.

The commitment sounds promising, but like most other Bucky sports, it never seems to pan out. Crossing fingers
