Fans will get their first glimpse of this year’s Wisconsin wrestling team as the Badgers host their annual Red/White dual Saturday at 4 p.m. at the UW Fieldhouse.

The dual will feature 11 matches that cover 10 weight classes.

Full lineup:
125 lbs. – Johnny Jimenez vs. Michael Cullen
141 lbs. – Eli Stickley vs. Cole Martin
149 lbs. – Rylan Lubeck vs. Andrew Crone
157 lbs. – Santonio Cathery vs. Jared Scharenbrock
EX. – Mason Reinhardt vs. Ricky Robertson
184 lbs. – Ryan Christensen vs. Jake Stilling
197 lbs. – Eric Peissig vs. Nic Veling
197 lbs. – Hunter Ritter vs. David Chadd
HWT. – Brock Horwath vs. Ben Stone
157 lbs. – Winner of Cathery/Scharenbrock vs. TJ Ruschell

The lineup varies slightly from what had been announced earlier in the week. Jimenez was originally set to square off with J.J. McClelland at 125, while TJ Ruschell was going to face Santonio Cathery at 157 and Jared Scharenbrock was set to take on Jared Donar.

However, Jimenez will now battle Michael Cullen at 125. Cathery will take on Scharenbrock at 157 to lead off the dual and the winner of the match will take on Ruschell to end the evening.

Robertson is the only one of Wisconsin’s three nationally ranked wrestlers who will see action on Saturday as Isaac Jordan (165 pounds) and Ryan Taylor (133) will not take to the mat.

“We will have some wrestlers that won’t be participating in the Red/White Dual because we want to keep them rested and healthy for the season,” Badgers head coach Barry Davis told uwbadgers.com. “We don’t want to bring anyone back before they are fully healthy and ready to compete.”

Admission to the event is free and doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Wisconsin opens the season on Nov. 12 when they play host to NCAA Division III UW-Whitewater.

Some quick notes on Saturday’s match ups:

125: Johnny Jimenez (So.) vs. Michael Cullen (Fr.)

Jimenez started the year wrestling unattached, but eventually became the Badgers’ starter at 125. He posted a 5-9 record and was 1-3 in Big Ten competition.

Cullen is a true freshman who was a two-time state champion in Illinois.

141: Eli Stickley (Fr.) vs. Cole Martin (Fr.)

A pair of true freshmen will make their Fieldhouse debut on Saturday.

Stickley was a 2014 state champion in Ohio. Last year, he was ranked as the No.78 high school wrestler in the nation by FloWrestling.

Martin was a three-time Wisconsin state champion for Lancaster High School, taking top honors at 120, 132 and 145 during his prep career.

149: Rylan Lubeck (R-Jr.) vs. Andrew Crone (Jr.)

Lubeck was UW’s starter at 141 last year and went 10-12 overall with a 4-6 mark in the Big Ten. He also saw time at 149 pounds, where he was an NCAA qualifier in 2014. He is 24-26 in two seasons as a starter.

Crone went 13-7 at 149 pounds last season.

157: Santonio Cathery (R-Jr.) vs. Jared Scharenbrock (R-Fr.)

Cathery is 17-22 in three seasons wrestling unattached or in open competitions, while Scharenbrock went 7-1 wrestling unattached a season ago.

Ex: Mason Reinhardt (Fr.) vs. Ricky Robertson (R-So.)

Reinhardt was a three-time state place winner for Merrill (Wis.) High School. He will have his hands fill with Robertson who is currently ranked tenth at 184 pounds by FloWrestling and InterMat.

Robertson was an NCAA qualifier at 184 past season, accumulating a record of 27-10 overall and 8-1 in the Big Ten. He placed fifth at the Big Ten Championships.

184: Ryan Christensen (R-Fr.) vs. Jake Stilling (R-So.)

While wrestling unattached at 184 last season, Christensen put together an 11-4 campaign.

Stilling is 28-11 in two unattached seasons at 174.

197: Eric Peissig (R-So.) vs. Nic Veling (R-Jr.)

Veling is 22-27 in three seasons wrestling unattached, while Peissig is 17-11 in two seasons unattached.

197: Hunter Ritter (Fr.) vs. David Chadd (Fr.)

Another match up featuring two true freshmen.

Chadd was a two-time state champion for Lancaster (Wis.) High School and Chadd was a 2014 state champ in Maryland.

HWT: Brock Horwath (R-Sr.) vs. Ben Stone (Fr.)

All-American heavyweight Connor Medbery is taking an Olympic redshirt this season and this match could go a long way toward finding his replacement.

Horwath is 36-13 in four years wrestling unattached.

Stone was a state champion for Cumberland (Wis.) High School last year.

157: Winner of Cathery/Scharenbrock vs. TJ Ruschell (R-Jr.)

Ruschell has 21 starts under his belt at 149 pounds and one start at 157 the last two seasons. He has a total career record of 29-22.
