When normally talking about the Wisconsin Badgers football team, the offensive line and rushing attack are the two obvious pillars the program builds itself on. But since their season-opening 35-17 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, the Wisconsin defense has become one of the main attractions after pitching a shutout against Miami (OH), surrendering three points to Troy, and blanking Hawaii in three consecutive games.

The stakes and competition increases a level this weekend when Wisconsin hosts the Iowa Hawkeyes in their first Big Ten conference game of the season. It’s the most expensive Wisconsin tickets on the secondary market will be for any of their games at Camp Randall Stadium this season according to TiqIQ.com, with an average price of $175.82 and a get-in price of $84. Wisconsin’s game in two weekends against the Purdue Boilermakers comes in a close second, having an average ticket price of $168.59 and a get-in price of $87, but the Badgers do not have another game with an average ticket price over $100 after that.

Madison, WI flights through Hipmunk.com can have any current or former Badger back jumping around at Camp Randall Stadium. Hotels in Madison starting from $63 are available to be booked on Hipmunk as well for those unavailable to stay on campus.

Without running back Corey Clement, the rushing game has shined in the early going, but it has been against lesser competition. Before their first real test against Iowa, the Badgers rushed 35 times for 199 yards against Troy, followed by rushing 54 times for 326 yards against Hawaii.

Iowa, meanwhile, enters this clash a perfect 4-0 on the season, which they accomplished in impressive fashion. The Hawkeyes beat Illinois State, took down their rival Iowa State on the road, defeated the Pittsburgh Panthers at home on a 57-yard field goal at the final horn, and absolutely slaughtered the North Texas Mean Green by almost 50 points. In other words, they’ve pretty much been as impressive as any squad in college football thus far.

The Hawkeyes have only been on the road once this season but Camp Randall Stadium will be an entirely different atmosphere for Iowa. Last season, Wisconsin eked out a close road victory at Kinnick Stadium, winning 26-25 in the latter half of the campaign.
