Every kid that grows up in Wisconsin dreams of plying for the Wisconsin Badgers and the Green Bay Packers. Few have those dreams come true.

With the first pick in the 4th round of 2017 NFL Draft, former Badgers linebacker Vince Biegel had his dream come true.

The Green Bay Packers may have passed on T.J. Watt, but the “other” Badgers linebacker was too good to pass up.

Biegel was a second team All-Big Ten pick this past season by the Big Ten coaches. As a senior, he recorded 44.0 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks while playing in 12 games.

He finished with 191 tackles, 39.5 tackles for loss and 21.5 over his four-year career at UW. He also was a member of an All-Big Ten team for all three years as a starter.

Biegel joins Jared Abredderis as one of a very select group of Badgers to become Packers in the Ted Thompson era.

He wasn’t also the third Badgers player off the board this year, as he joins first round selections T.J. Watt (Pittsburgh) and Ryan Ramczyk (New Orleans) in being drafted this year.
