So it begins.....Draft Sim 2018

I know folks don't want to spend a 1st rounder on a QB, but I see it as a formula to stay competitive for the next 12 years. With all our draft picks this year I would rather grab a potential franchise QB a year early than a year late. Don't reach for a EDGE player who isn't a good value pick. You have enough picks to grab a couple in the first five rounds.
There's a good chance the BPA is going to be the Guard from ND. So I traded back with plans to get an OLB later in the round and obtained enough 2nd round picks that I thought grabbing a QB I have highly rated is a better scenario for the long run. Here it is:

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 29 (CAR): Lamar Jackson, QB, Louisville (A-) Carried his team this year. Has intangibles and speed
Round 2 Pick 7 (N.E.): Roquan Smith, ILB, Georgia (B+) Best ILB in college. Speed, instincts and a hitter
Round 2 Pick 19 (DAL): Mason Cole, C/OT, Michigan (A-) Tretter part II
Round 2 Pick 23 (N.E.): Jaire Alexander, CB, Louisville (A-) Will push for a starters role right away
Round 2 Pick 29 (CAR): Tremaine Edmunds, OLB, Virginia Tech (A-) difference maker, think Charles Haley
Round 3 Pick 15: Anthony Miller, WR, Memphis (A+) smooth route runner with speed, opens up Adams and Jordy
Round 4 Pick 15: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State (A+) small school star, need one bad
Round 5 Pick 15: Jaylen Samuels, FB, North Carolina State (A+) jack of all trades, good hands, good blocker, H-back?
Round 6 Pick 15: Auden Tate, WR, Florida State (A+) Thunder to Miller's lightning, just scratching the surface
Round 7 Pick 15: Christian LaCouture, DT, LSU (B+) for competition, lights a fire under Lowry

Bare basics draft with no trades.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 15: Harold Landry, OLB/DE, Boston College (A)
Round 2 Pick 15: Courtland Sutton, WR, Southern Methodist (A)
Round 3 Pick 15: Josey Jewell, ILB, Iowa (A+)
Round 4 Pick 15: Jordan Thomas, CB, Oklahoma (A-)
Round 5 Pick 15: Christopher Herndon, TE, Miami (FL) (A-)
Round 6 Pick 15: David Bright, OT, Stanford (A)
Round 7 Pick 15: Jerry Tillery, DT, Notre Dame (A+)

Simulator hated this... I kind of think it fits:

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 14: Denzel Ward, CB, Ohio State (A-)
Round 2 Pick 18 (NYJ): Dorance Armstrong Jr., DE/OLB, Kansas (A-)
Round 3 Pick 14: Dallas Goedert, TE, South Dakota State (A)
Round 4 Pick 6 (NYJ): Joseph Noteboom, OT, Texas Christian (A-)
Round 4 Pick 14: Deontay Burnett, WR, Southern California (A+)
Round 5 Pick 14: Cortez Broughton, DT, Cincinnati (B)
Round 5 Pick 20 (NYJ): Azeem Victor, ILB, Washington (A)
Round 6 Pick 14: Sean Chandler, FS, Temple (A-)
Round 7 Pick 14: Akrum Wadley, RB, Iowa (A-)

I like the idea of CB first with a new Coordinator. King, Ward, Randall really opens opportunities for the new DC.
Fast, quick twitch WRs would be high on my wish list too. Exciting again without TTs prejudices. Whole new game.

Does having a new GM elevate the chances of taking a QB in first round?
If new GM is from within the organization does it put WR possibly in first round?

Straight draft, no trades. I'd take this one every day.

Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 14: Bradley Chubb, DE, North Carolina State (A+)
Round 2 Pick 14: Josh Jackson, CB, Iowa (A-)
Round 3 Pick 14: Lorenzo Carter, OLB, Georgia (A)
Round 4 Pick 14: Michael Gallup, WR, Colorado State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 14: Troy Fumagalli, TE, Wisconsin (A+)
Round 6 Pick 14: Maea Teuhema, OG, LSU (A+)
Round 7 Pick 14: Michael Hill, DT, Ohio State (A+)

This is really a different angle from most of the mocks. The OT at 14 is a brow raiser, but two QBs is a total curveball, but refreshing!

The pass rushers I wanted were gone. Chubb and Key both went a couple picks before 14. The two QBs was kind of a joke but it didn't hurt the grade any. I was disgusted with Hundley. Not a big fan of Barrett but he passes better than Hundley ever did in college and gives you the run option too. He was there in the best available for the last pick so I couldn't resist.
