No offense but Zach Kruse is an absolute hack of a writer. Very speculative piece. The fact remains their playing a rhythm/timing based pass game. A lot of maybe's to his theory.

Interesting read danno. It would be cool if MM moved Davante around like he did Jordy. Possibly cause some matchup problems. Could be a part of MMs tweaking of the offense. Time will tell.

Rodgers does sound annoyed. When asked about Witten’s comment about Dez coming to Green Bay he said, "I’m paid to play quarterback, so I don’t make those decisions." Then, "Well, we like young receivers, so I’m assuming that’s the way they’re going to keep going. I don’t know why you’d cut Jordy and bring in Dez, but he’s a talented player. He’s going to end up somewhere. If he ends up here, we’ll obviously welcome him with open arms and get him up to speed as quick as possible."

He lacks excitement. There's no, "I'm excited about our season!", "Our young receivers look good!”, etc. Watch the video clip to see what I mean:

I hope we're all just reading something into it that's not there!

I believe Rodgers is indicating that they better make sure someone plays the slot who has the skills to play at the level Nelson did, or they have problems. He also doesn't seem confident Adams is capable of handling that physical aspect of the game.

He's pretty much saying that it's up to McCarthy to prove they had an honest reason to dump Nelson.

Good points oakleaf. I read that article and came away with the same thoughts. I'm going to be interested to see the body language during the games, especially if things aren't going so well offensively.

I believe Aaron said exactly what I've been saying right along. He too a sideways shot at the front office for not resigning Nelson, and even suggested that they were now down a valuable target and they may as well sign Dez because they ain't got the horses to make things happen.

Once again, I'm reading what he said, his facial expressions movements, and what he didn't say. He did not say they had Nelson's spot filled from anyone on the roster.

This is not a happy man, and he never will be again with those who are now in charge.

speaking as one of the very few residents of this forum who actually likes and respects our quarterback, i'll just say that i think you guys are putting an awful heavy spin on things and it's not the way i interpreted his comments or demeanor at all. i've been instructed not to be confrontational so i will just leave it there.

It's all good reality. I respect and value your opinion greatly. I try not to read too much into the written word and I certainly respect AR as the QB of the Packers. I just thought the phrasing was a little odd. Especially from a guy who prides himself on his articulation.

But see that's just the thing - every word with Aaron is parsed and pre-meditated, so I don't think it's a matter of misinterpretation. He has a history of speaking passive aggressively to the media about coaches, other players and the organization.

He's grouchy! It doesn't mean it's a sign of what he wants to do with his contract or long term plans IMO. It just means it's a long marriage he has with the Packers and MM and he thinks he knows better, and he has no problem letting everyone know it.

I agree. That's why I started the thread. He's very measured in what he says and I wanted to see if anyone else got the same read as I did. I pretty much think you hit the nail on the head. He's at that point in his career.
