Here's the counterpart to the offensive chart that I put up a few days ago
Yeah...
So again, the hierarchy was determined by a formula that weighted games played and stats accumulated vs the listed starters. That only comes into play a couple of times, and in the secondary mostly. I.e. Sam Shields was the 'starter' but was outperformed categorically by Casey Hayward. The chart doesn't account for Sam's production die to good coverage.
Also should be noted that Charles Woods on was a DPOY candidate in 2010 and 2011, after winning that award in 2009, the year before this chart begins.
