The Green Bay Packers return to Lambeau Field for the final home game of the season, hosting the Minnesota Vikings in primetime on Saturday.
It is the first time Green Bay has played a Saturday game in back-to-back seasons since 1994-95.
It will be the fourth time the Packers and Vikings have played on a Saturday during the regular season (1973, 1991, 2016).
The Packers have won their last five regular-season games played on Saturdays, including a 38-25 win over the Vikings last year.
Green Bay is 17-12 in regular-season Saturday games since 1925.
Including playoffs, Green Bay has a 9-2-1 mark (.792) against the Vikings at Lambeau Field under Head Coach Mike McCarthy and a 16-7-1 (.688) record overall.
uThe Packers have scored 23-plus points in 10 of the last 11 home games versus Minnesota.
It is the fifth straight season that teams have met in a prime-time game.
Of the past 30 regular-season meetings between the teams, 20 of those games have been decided by seven points or less.
They have split the season series both of the past two years.
Through 114 meetings, which includes two postseason contests (1-1), the Packers hold a 60-52-2 edge over the Vikings in the all-time series.
The Packers are 11-4-1 in the last 16 games between the teams during the regular and postseason.
Next week, Green Bay will finish the regular season in Detroit for the second consecutive year, marking the first time it has finished the regular season on the road against the same team in back-to-back seasons since 1991-92 (Minnesota). Last year, the Packers beat the Lions, 31-24.

I'm not even going to say the Packers have a chance in this one. They probably do, but I'm not going to say it, because I don't believe they're going to really go for the win as much as it will be the start of a 2 week evaluation of players who essentially are auditioning for next year. Rodgers doesn't need to audition. He'll be here.

I'm going to say Minnesota 24 Green Bay 14

I don't think Zimmer needs to put the hammer down, so he won't. Yet, they should pretty much dominate the game.

I think the Packers, with Rodgers IR' d and Hundley at the helm, catch Minnesota by surprise. 27-10 Vikings.

GB has zero to play for after today. When your HC puts the franchise on IR like that you can bet morale is zero. Zimmer will play to win so he can sit his key starters next week. Vikings 31 Packers 17

When did Minnesota get a bay? :)

Land of 10,000 lakes. There has to be a Bay there somewhere.

I didn't even notice that when I clicked on the thread. Re read the entire thread before I noticed it in the title.

OMG. I'm in hell up here. A couple years ago they did a survey on ranking your favorite local sports teams and the Packers came in third. So now that the vikings are in the playoffs and the Pack can't even sniff the playoffs..... Their sports talk shows just cannot stop taking shots at Green Bay. They seem to be under the impression that their collective IQ goes up IF their team wins. They talk like they are a dynasty or something and they haven't even won a playoff game yet. The fair weather fans dusted off all their memorabilia and it's purple every you look. I hate purple, it's the color of bruises and rotting fruit. Anyway, I guess that's just my burden to bear right now.
As far as the game goes, let's see.....QB is on IR; starting CBs are on IR; best WR keeps getting cheap shotted (?) and we have no real TEs. I'm going to agree with Bud and say 27-10, but I don't know how we are going to score. Can't wait for Christmas day.

Dubz, always remember that the Vikings have "zero" Super Bowl trophies, and at the end of this season, that won't change. Buy yourself a Packer sweatshirt with the 13 championships on it, with a Super Bowl trophy pic, and tell them; "When you get to this, we'll talk about it. Until then, you're pretenders."

That should get you a lot of friends. You might also want to make sure your insurance covers ambulance rides, and that the people in emergency rooms aren't football fans, or at least not Viking fans!

Trying to be helpful! cheesehead)

Like someone said in chat, 2018 pre season starts now.. This is when we should see which of the younger guys have the fire to fight (it's open auditions from this point forward, not only for a GB roster spot but other teams as well) and show what their potential is...

I'm not expecting much from the vets. They've consistently disappointed this season with lack of sustained effort and inconsistency. Especially on defense.

This is a perfect opportunity for the young guys to take out the older alpha's who are past their prime (i'm looking at you CMIII) and those vets who got paid and don't live up to their contracts (ahem, Daniels, cough cough).....
