The Green Bay Packers will take on the New York Giants at home in a primetime matchup this Sunday.
It is the third year in a row that Green Bay has played on Sunday Night Football in the week after the bye.
The Packers have won seven of the last eight Sunday Night Football games played at home.
Dating back to 2006, the Packers (28-9, .757) and Giants (30-10, .750) hold the second- and third-best winning percentages in the month of October, trailing only the New England Patriots (35-7, .833).
Green Bay has won 10 consecutive home games during the month of October. The Packers’ last October loss at home came by three points in an overtime game against the Miami Dolphins on Oct. 17, 2010.
Since 2010, the Packers have played the Giants five times (including playoffs), tied for the second-most games against a non-division opponent behind only the San Francisco 49ers (six).
This Sunday, Green Bay will play the second of four consecutive home games over a five-week span. It is the first time the Packers have played four consecutive home games during a single regular season since 1963 (Games 1-4).
Starting Sunday, Green Bay will play three home games in a 12-day span.
BYE-WEEK NOTES
Green Bay’s win over Detroit marked the sixth consecutive game at Lambeau Field the Packers have won when it has led into the bye week (2007-08, 2010, 2012, 2015-16).
The Packers improved to 7-4 (.636) under Head Coach Mike McCarthy in the game heading into the open date on their schedule. Green Bay has won the game after the bye four of the previous six times it won the game heading into the bye.
It was the second time in four years that the Packers had a bye in Week 4 (2013). In 2013, Green Bay also played at home after the bye, beating Detroit, 22-9.
Dating back to 2006, this was the eighth time, including the third in a row, that Green Bay had a .500 or better record at the bye week (2015, 6-0 / 2014, 5-3 / 2012, 6-3 / 2011, 7-0 / 2010, 6-3 / 2009, 2-2 / 2008, 4-3 / 2007, 5-1).
The Packers are playing at home in the week after the bye for the fourth time in the McCarthy era. Green Bay has won each of the previous three. The last time the Packers played at home after the bye was in 2014, a 55-14 win over Chicago.
Green Bay faces an NFC opponent for the sixth time after the bye since 2006, but it will be the first time they play a team outside the NFC North. The Packers have won each of the five previous matchups against NFC teams in the week after the bye.
In games immediately following its bye week, Green Bay has won 15 of its last 20 (.750), including wins in six of the last seven. Overall, the Packers are 8-2 under McCarthy in games played the week after the bye.
From 2009-14, Green Bay won its first game after the bye in each season, outscoring its opponents, 203-84, in those contests. That included a 26-0 win vs. Detroit in 2009, a 31-3 victory at Minnesota in 2010, a 22-9 win vs. Detroit in 2013 and a 55-14 win over Chicago in 2014.
Since McCarthy took over in 2006, the Packers have a 61-34-1 overall record (.640) after the bye. Since 2009, Green Bay is 44-21-1 (.674) overall after the bye.

NBC will broadcast the game to a national audience. Play-by-play man Al Michaels joins analyst Cris Collinsworth in the booth with Michele Tafoya reporting from the sidelines.
Milwaukee’s WTMJ (620 AM), airing Green Bay games since November 1929, heads up the Packers Radio Network that is made up of 50 stations in five states. Wayne Larrivee (play-by-play) and two-time Packers Pro Bowler Larry McCarren (analyst) call the action. McCarren first joined the team’s broadcasts in 1995 and enters his 22nd season calling Packers games. After originally being paired together in 1999, McCarren and Larrivee enter their 18th season of broadcasts together.
Westwood One Sports will air the game on radio across the country. Kevin Kugler (play-by-play) and James Lofton (analyst) will call the action, with Scott Graham hosting the pregame and halftime shows.
The broadcast is also available on Sirius Satellite Radio (WTMJ feed) as part of the network’s NFL Sunday Drive.
