Key players on the Green Bay defense are profiled in today's curds, all for very different reasons.
The Green Bay Packers certainly hope that their defense is a force to be reckoned with in 2016, and the additions to the unit through the draft are largely expected to contribute immediately to the team's success. From Kenny Clark to Blake Martinez, each draftee should have a significant role to fill.
However, they will be learning the ropes of the NFL and the defensive scheme from the Packers' veterans, three of whom are analyzed in today's Cheese Curds. Mike Daniels, Sam Shields, and Jayrone Elliott all play different positions and hold different roles on the team; Daniels is the vocal leader of the defensive line, Shields is a quieter presence in the secondary, and Elliott has been a star on special teams who continues to wait for more chances as an edge rusher.

Sure, Daniels is earning some well-deserved praise from around the league and its media. However, that's not going to make him complacent, as he says "it's not the goal...the goal is to be the best."
